Flicka London is our floating home in the heart of London, surrounded by the nature of the Thames.
Enjoy the enormous deck and watch the world go by, or cool off in the unique foredeck plunge pool - one of a kind!
Below deck lies an expansive lounge, with kitchen diner, 2 bathrooms and 4 bedrooms ranging from the historic Captains cabin, to the cosy Cooks cabin, complete with a projector for family film nights.
Outside the ferry is on your doorstep, for a quick zip into central London too
The space
Life afloat is magical and we feel lucky every day to live here! People are always surprised by how spacious it is inside and of course everyone loves to be on deck. It is like living on your own private island in the heart of London, with endless skys, nature and an ever changing view from every window. Central London is on your doorstep, literally - just a quick ferry ride down river. After a day of sightseeing, there is nothing better than coming home to chill on deck, with a bottle of something and watch the sun go down.
Flicka London is moored on a private gated pontoon, accessed from St Mary's Pier. We are 13 mins walk from Clapham Junction station with direct trains to Gatwick, Waterloo and Victoria. The Thames clipper ferry leaves from our pier so Battersea power station is 8 mins away and central London 30 mins, going past the sites. We also have free secure private parking spaces too.
You step from the pontoon into the light filled wheelhouse with 360 degree views of the river. The captain's table seats 8 comfortably for dinner or drinks in the wheelhouse, where you can watch the world go by outside. From the wheelhouse you can access the 120sqm deck, furnished with 2 sofa areas and a dining table for 12, with bbq grill. Forwards from the deck is the plunge pool - commissioned for Flicka and completely unique. You can float around and chill, or actually swim using a swim tether too.
Below decks, there is the historic wood panelled captain's cabin at the stern, with European king sized bed and ensuite bathroom complete with marble topped bath.
In the main part of the barges cargo hold is the large open plan kitchen and saloon. Saul is a chef so the kitchen has all you could need to cook at home, if you don't fancy one of Londons many restaurants. The kitchen island is a favourite place to sit for drinks or meals. Just off the kitchen is the utility room with washer, dryer and additional fridge and freezer.
Forwards from the saloon is the mid ships cabin, with a European King sized bed and hidden home office for those that need to remain available for work.
In the ships bow, is the enormous split level bow cabin with European super-king bed and plenty of space to relax too.
There is a bathroom with enormous marble topped bath, plus separate shower for these rooms to share.
Behind the kitchen and below the wheelhouse is the cosy cooks cabin with a double bed, port holes and a projector for gaming or streaming films.
All bedrooms, apart from the cooks cabin have ample storage and hanging space.
Flicka is warm and cosy inside on days when the weather is not. We have full central heating, plus a log burner in the saloon and another in the wheelhouse. On sunny days throw open the windows and let the sun stream in. You will never want to leave!
Please note Flicka is our home, not a faceless corporate hospitality property, so as such you will find some food in cupboards, books on shelves and a couple of coats on hooks, etc.
Guest access
Full access to the whole barge!
Other things to note
The barge is permanently moored, so you are not cruising at all.
It is a boat so does rock - less so at night, as there is no river traffic.
The Thames is a fast flowing river - Guests are responsible for their own personal safety and must act accordingly when onboard and on the pontoon.
Flicka is our home, not a faceless corporate hospitality investment, so please treat it with respect and understand that there are personal effects around in places.
