Exceptional check-in experience

Recent guests gave the check-in process a 5-star rating.
A unique group retreat in the heart of Snowdonia, surrounded by woodland, river and mountains, for up to 17 guests. Ideal for families, friends, business teams, outdoor groups and wellness retreats.

• The space: Four acres of private grounds, views, trails from the door, an equipped kitchen and flexible space for dining, yoga, meditation and workshops.

• Good to know: We’re a peaceful retreat, not a party venue. Events must be agreed in advance. Groups of 14+ please contact us before booking.

The space
Stay at our mountainside group retreat in Eryri (Snowdonia), with woodland, river and mountain scenery all around. The Lodge combines a characterful setting, comfortable shared spaces and room for groups to spend proper time together, whether you’re planning a family stay, friends’ getaway, outdoor trip, business offsite or wellness retreat.

• The grounds: Our four acres are covered with trees, ferns and moss, with private paths through rocky woodland and alongside our mountain river. Find a quiet place to sit or meditate beside the water, or take a refreshing dip if you’re feeling brave.

• Outdoor time: Gather around the fire circle, relax beneath the outdoor gazebos or simply look up. We’re within the official Eryri International Dark Sky Reserve, so on a clear night the skies can be spectacular. Walking and mountain biking routes are also close by.

• Shared grounds: At busy times, the parking area and grounds may also be shared with guests staying in our separate Studio. We ask everyone to respect the peaceful nature of the retreat. If you’d prefer complete privacy, ask about exclusive use of the whole property.

• Car free travel: Roman Bridge railway station is around a 7 minute walk away. The Conwy Valley line connects through Betws y Coed, where the Snowdon Sherpa network provides access to the main Yr Wyddfa walking routes. Fflecsi can also be booked to our lane.

• Explore: Yr Wyddfa, Zip World, Portmeirion, heritage railways, slate mines, climbing, castles and the coast are all within easy reach.

• Planning a group stay? For groups of 14 or more, please contact us before booking. We can also help with local catering, Welsh produce, activities and practical logistics.

• Fires: Please let us know in advance if you’d like to use the fire circle. Dry firewood can be provided at cost.

• Optional extra: Our wood fired sauna tent and cold water experience may be available by prior arrangement.

Guest access
Guest Access
• Sleeping: Four large bedrooms equipped with individual storage lockers, reading lights, dry rack, dressing table and more
• Dining: A fully equipped commercial style kitchen alongside a massive, flexible lounge and dining area
• Facilities: Two dedicated shower and toilet rooms equipped with complimentary toiletries, towels and period care made with organic cotton.
• The Estate: Full access to our four acres of forest, including riverside paths, outdoor seating gazebos, fire pits, and quiet meditation spots
• Large loads trailered to the door (request in advance to ensure its available)

Other things to note
• Terrain and arrival: The Lodge is at around 800 feet above sea level, with a sloping drive between the parking area and the Lodge and uneven ground outdoors. We’re happy to help with luggage. Please contact us before booking if anyone in your group has mobility concerns, so we can talk through the setting honestly.

• The retreat: The Lodge sits within our four acres alongside our separate guest Studio and our own home. Each accommodation has its own private areas, with some shared riverside paths and woodland.

• Exclusive use: For complete privacy, you can also book the Studio alongside the Lodge, subject to availability. This works particularly well for retreat or group leaders who’d welcome their own space away from the main group.

• Children: Families are very welcome. Our grounds include rugged mountain terrain, rocks and an open river, so children must be supervised by a responsible adult while outdoors.

• A peaceful place to stay: We’re not a party venue. We ask every group to enjoy their time here while respecting the peaceful surroundings, wildlife, other guests and our home.

• Your hosts: We live on site and are happy to help with luggage, share local tips, suggest walks or answer questions during your stay.

• Planning your stay: Once you’ve booked, we can put you directly in touch with trusted local cooks, caterers, suppliers, personal trainers and activity providers who may help with your plans.

We find ourselves loving the Airbnb experience. We’d arm wrestle anyone who says their guests are better than ours, we have the best guests!! Myself and Julie, who moans a lot and keeps giving me things to do, love our secret Welsh retreat and enjoy listening and sharing what we know so you can get the maximum fun and happiness from your stay. To quote an early guest “Middle of nowhere but the centre of everything”, that’s us. Julie and Chris
