Beautiful historic cottage, restored to modern standards in the leafy backstreets of picturesque Scalloway. Private mature wooded garden, shared only with other guests. Short walk to the waterfront and visitor amenities or open moorland with stunning views just a stride away. A central starting point for your Shetland experience with nearby transport links and a convenient location in the island's ancient capital of Scalloway. Stunning views to the harbour, Scalloway Castle and nearby islands.

The space
Viewcliff is a cosy cottage in a leafy corner of the village. It is bright and airy with amazing views on to the harbour area, Scalloway castle and Clift Sound. The cottage has all you need for a comfortable home experience.
It has a mature garden that is a sun trap in summer months and a hidden haven during the winter storms. The Chalet behind the house is also available to let, and the properties are blind to each other.

While the property does have a stove in the sitting room, this is not available for use by guests.

Items such as high chairs, travel cots or baby baths are available on request.

Guest access
Guests are self-contained in the cottage. The garden is private and secure and shared with the cottage. Guest are requested to respect each-other's privacy and keep pets separated unless through prior agreement.

The driveway accommodates one vehicle and if guests find it is already occupied, they are encouraged to park on the street which is also quiet and safe, leaving room for other vehicles to pass.

Neighbourhood highlights

Quiet friendly rural village neighbourhood, close to the main street and transport links but secluded and tranquil with low traffic. Local amenties (within 5 mins walk from the cottage) include a swimming pool, two shops providing local produce and a small number of high quality eateries. There are many historical spots to visit in the village and surrounding areas, with a fantastic museum located next to the iconic Scalloway Castle. There are a number of local artists in the area, who's work is a available through local premises or a chance to visit their working studios.
