2 weeks agoWhat a wonderful trip, I loved every second of it. The Roundhouse is a truly special place and we love the ethos of Henbant and permaculture farming. Everyone onsite was really friendly. It's a great combination of feeling really in touch with nature while still having easy convenience. The location is spectacular: the sea on one side and the mountains on the other, heaven! can't wait to come back.

3 weeks agolovely, secluded hideaway. me, my partner and daughter (4 year old) went for my 30th birthday for 2 nights and it was perfect for what we wanted. we got some family time to ourselves and was able to explore the area and travel to the local towns which are lovely and well equipped. a few things that could be improved on but didn't really impact the quality of our stay would be that the shower was extremely hot and had no way of controlling temperature. the fire pit outside was filled with ash and needed emptying before use. The doors didn't lock and the roundhouse was fairly close to the forest school site meaning the peace and quiet was disturbed for a few hours by lots of children. again these didn't impact the quality of our stay and we thoroughly enjoyed our time here

June 2026if you go prepared for camping you'll be fine. I was travelling from overseas so wasn't, and I had a suitcase. Based on the description, I had higher expectations. I understand the concepts and I think some accommodation was ok, but the wooden Yurt was not great. No warm water at all. the outdoor sink had no warm water and not even a light. the path to the yurt was a goat track, overgrown and with gorse and brambles, which was a problem as I had a case. the outdoor shower was barely a trickle due to a leaky hose, and not warm. The front door didn't fit the doorway - daylight and draft under 1 side and other side gauged into the floor so it was difficult to open and close. when we stripped the beds the quilts were stained and not great. the concept is great but better information, some small improvements and maintenance would go a long way.

June 2026We loved staying at the Viking long house and felt nestled in the ground and it gave us a very peaceful and tranquil vibe. The kitchen had all of the basic needs. It was nice to have a small refrigerator with a little freezer space and we loved the outside fire grill and picnic table. It was good fun to see the veggie gardens. The cats were super friendly and fun for our 12 year old. We would definitely stay here again, if you are looking for peaceful wide open spaces. The sunsets across the ocean from the top of the hill were spectacular, but we got lucky with the weather. We loved every minute!!
