“We had a wonderful 2 night stay at Hilltop Lodge and it was absolutely perfect. Lemon drizzle cake on arrival was such a lovely touch, together with fresh milk, tea and coffee to help settle after a long journey! The cabin had everything you needed for a comfortable stay and the kitchen was well equipped. We loved the log burner, once it got going it kept the whole place nice and warm. A great location for exploring the local area. Maps and suggestions are provided which was super helpful. We walked into Appleby from the lodge and visited Ullswater and Aira Force which was short drive, it was stunning. If you’re a member of the national trust you can park for free there - we paid £9 for 4+ hours! We had such a great weekend, would recommend to anyone. Thanks Annabelle!”

“Sally's place is a luxury hideout in a peaceful village. The apartment is super clean and though small, equipped with everything you could ask for. Overlooks a garden which is visited by birds and red squirrels, a great to watch through the binoculars left for our use. Many thoughtful touches like wine, biscuits, milk and other tit bits! Brian was very helpful in showing us some great walks starting from the village and Sally sad so kind in lending her welly's, much needed for the sometimes muddy terrain. Fantastic location to explore the beautiful Pennines. No shops at Garrigill itself but Spa and Coop at Alston close by. Of you want the peace of a village, beautiful countryside, great walks with little luxury this is the k lace to come to.”
