The oversized covered front porch provides a weather protected outside living room area, ideal for gathering with friends and to enjoy the ducks and chickens that amble the expansive country yard.

Welcome to our secluded grotto surrounded by Redwoods! This modern and quiet space will be a perfect respite for the many reasons you may be coming to Humboldt. Along with our local craftsman, we have created an oasis that will allow you to soak up the Redwoods, listen to the birds and watch the deer graze. Walking distance to the Majestic Arcata Community forest and Cal Poly Humboldt. As Arcata natives, we wanted to bring you a unique and unforgettable Humboldt experience.

Located in one of the earliest developments of McKinleyville. Our 710 sq. ft. attached guest house has a small fenced in yard and sits close enough to stroll down to view the ocean or take a 5 min. drive to enjoy the local Hammond hiking/bike trails, and nearby shops and restaurants. An easy trip from Arcata airport (ACV) or Hwy 101 and close access to the areas known beaches, redwood forests, lagoons and marshes to explore. Humboldt Cal Poly is located just 6 miles South.

NO FIRES ALLOWED - anyone who breaks this rule will be fined $300.

The Community Redwood Forest, Cal Poly, and the Arcata Plaza are all just a short, lovely neighborhood walk away. The cottage was lovingly created using all natural (and often local materials). Most of the wood is salvaged old-growth meaning it might be as old as 2,000 years! Hosting is our passion and we take pride and joy in the honor to welcome you.
