Self-contained garden room in grounds of a Grade II listed cottage in the heart of Ashdon village, 10 mins away from Saffron Walden, 30 mins from Cambridge & 40 mins from Stansted. Surrounded by beautiful countryside with lovely local walks & places of interest nearby. Own private bathroom, view over cottage garden, very secluded; dark & quiet at night. Continental breakfast provided with home-made bread & preserves, muesli, yoghurts, fruit compote, fresh milk & tea & coffee.
“Phil’s self-contained cottage was the most delightful Airbnb stay we have enjoyed so far. It was the perfect conclusion to an 8 week holiday in the UK and the continent, and the bed tops the list of most comfortable beds we experienced on our travels. We liked the property’s rural location and found it convenient to access Cambridge by car (Babraham Rd Park and Ride recommended - easy and cost-effective). Phil provided us with supplies for a delicious breakfast each morning (muesli, fruit compote, yoghurt, homemade bread, coffee, tea, etc.). We stayed for two nights but wished we could have stayed longer.”
The Vinery is a bright, self-contained studio within beautiful surroundings. Rolling countryside views to Radwinter Church make this a peaceful and restful stay. River and village walks are highly recommended. We welcome dogs; we have two of our own. Close by is the medieval market town of Saffron Walden. Cambridge, Stansted Airport, London and the village pub are all within easy access. Sorry, no smokers.
“We were very impressed with our recent stay within The Vinery. Helen was very friendly & made us feel very welcome at her accommodation. We were offered lots of useful tips including restaurants in Saffron Walden as an alternative to the local pub. As we also enjoy looking around antique & second hand places- a trip to Reeds was also a great recommendation. Saffron Walden has many interesting streets & buildings to discover on foot plus an impressive church in the town centre.”
Comfy double room on the first floor. Home is in quiet village with good quick access (2-3 miles) to trains and motorway. A friendly chocolate Labrador lives at the property, and guests with a friendly dog are welcome. Audley End House, Imperial War Museum (Duxford) and and the historic town of Saffron Walden are within 5 miles of the property.
