Ballyvaughan Holiday Cottage

Our house is on the edge of Ballyaughan village, a short( 9 min) walk to centre of village. This traditional styled 2 storey house was comprehensively refurbished in July 2018 with new kitchen and bedroom, with an open plan living space ideal for families and groups of adults The house has oil fired central heating and a solid fuel stove. There are 3 bathrooms, 2 are ensuite. The listed price is all inclusive, there are no extra charges. FTTH( Fiber to the home broadband) is now available.

A truly special spot, this luxurious lodge is close to Ballyvaughan but tucked in the trees with a view of the turlough, red squirrels, and sparrow hawks. Cosset yourself with organic mattresses, spa-like bathrooms, smart TV’s, a diverse library, and a fully stocked chef’s kitchen with fabulous Lacanche French range. Massive windows offer views to lush surrounding greenery. A spacious deck with bbq, fire pit outdoor furniture and dining table overlooks the turlough (disappearing lake).

The kitchen is fully equipped with everything one might require to prepare and serve meals at the cottage. Along with a filter coffee machine and a stove top espresso pot. There are four bedrooms; downstairs, two king sized bedrooms and a cosy single, and a then upstairs, a traditional style twin room with wash basin. The bathroom which is located on the ground floor, has a bath with shower and a toilet, there is also a separate WC on the ground floor.

It is surrounded by low walls and hedges: with a gated entrance controlled by an electronic security system. Features include 3 murders holes and a dungeon The castle was built by the DeBurgo family (approximately 1480). It had the distinction of being shelled by the British Gunboat ” Helga” during the1916 Rising to disband rebels
