— ABOUT THE CABIN — We were inspired by The Thief in Oslo. It took two years to build. The result is Tyven — an 80 sqm boutique cabin with a large window overlooking Mjøsa — Norway's largest lake — from the kitchen. Featured in National Geographic Traveller. Private jacuzzi, two full bathrooms, and peace and privacy in Mjøsa's natural surroundings. Kitchen, bathroom and one bedroom on the first floor — living room and two bedrooms on the lower floor. Well thought out down to the last detail, 30 minutes from Gardermoen.

A taste of farm life

Take a breath on the ground and find your resting heart rate at this unique and peaceful place to stay. While you enjoy breakfast on the veranda, you can let your gaze rest on the horses grazing and the goats roaming around the farm. During the day, you can explore the forest trails. In the evening, you can see the stars without light pollution, or work out in the barn. It is only 20 minutes to the town of Lillehammer with many cultural and activity experiences, or to Sjusjøen with great ski slopes in winter.

The large garden with Maihaugbekken, two terraces, a fireplace, art and Persian rugs give the house a warm and unique atmosphere. The bookshelves contain a large collection of local history about Lillehammer and Gudbrandsdalen. Private parking for up to 3 cars.

Located right by Mjøsa and it is only 2km to the center of Gjøvik. It has a fantastic views and sunshine. There are 3 bedrooms, 2 toilets, one bathroom with 2 showers, garage, laundry room, 2 terraces with one of them as a partial winter garden, open plan kitchen and living room. TV, internet, ventilation, heat pump and air conditioning.

Feel free to visit our cozy and family-friendly holiday home. Our self-built cabin with a fantastic view of Mjøsa. Charmingly furnished, used and new in combination. In 2022, the magazine Hytteliv wrote a longer article about the cabin. A lovely place to be both summer and winter. 5 minutes walk to a nice sandy beach. Nice trails to walk in the forest. Only 15 minutes to Lillehammer, 30 minutes to Sjusjøen and 40 minutes to Hafjell. Great ski slopes locally at Brøttum.

The house is located on a farm. Nice and quiet. Short distance to nice nature experiences. 300 m to nice trips with cross-country skis in winter, nice hiking opportunities in summer. Approx. 25 min by car to Lillehammer city center. (14 km) 30 min to Hafjell and Hunderfossen. If you want to ski in the mountains, it is about 15 min. by car to Fåberg Vestfjell. Large garden, so nice for families with children. It is recommended to have your own car☺️

Here you have immediate proximity to the wilderness that offers hiking, biking, swimming, fishing, cross-country skiing and several playgrounds for kids. The cottage is luxurious and fully equipped, with WiFi included. Bedding&towels can be rented for €25 per person.

Garden House in the Middle of Town

Our garden house has a plain Norwegian cabin standard with everything you need for making simple meals. Some basic food supplies will be available. As we have no running water in the garden house, we have placed a water dispenser in the kitchen area. Your bathroom, with floor heating and shower, is situated right next door, in the main house. The garden house has its own terrace, with access to the garden.

The cabin is 70 sqm, with 2 bedrooms (sleeps 4), living room, kitchen that contains dishwasher, cutlery, pans and table linens. Bathroom and private laundry room with washing machine. The house is fully furnished. The cabin has fibre broadband from Altibox, with the standard package of channels.
