We’ll trace the city’s transformation from a humble ninth-century village to the bustling metropolis of today. • Begin at the remnants of the city’s original walls, built in the ninth century when Spain was under Muslim rule. • Make our way to the 13th-century San Nicolás de Bari de los Servitas, Madrid’s oldest church, and see other surviving medieval buildings such as the 15th-century Torre de los Lujanes, which once housed the nobility. • Conclude our walk in the relative present—the grand, 18th-century Plaza Mayor. Throughout the tour, I’ll point out hidden treasures like a medieval door made out of wood and tombstones reused in unexpected ways. Tim Bikes highlights bike tour Madrid

Our tour is ideal for everyone who wants to get to know Madrid in a short time but in a relaxed way. Conducted in English. Private tours in English, Dutch, Spanish, French if available and Portuguese if available. In about 3 hours and 11 km biking, you will more or less see and hear everything of the old center while riding a very comfortable bicycle. The “must see” places as well as the hidden corners away from the typical touristic paths. We will ride mainly on cycling paths, pedestrian zones and parks. Of course there will be various stops to take pictures. When we stop, we will tell you about the stories behind what you see and tell our personal experiences of our time in Madrid. After the tour you have an idea which places you want to visit in your own time and in which restaurants and tapas bars you want to have your meal. You are inspired for the rest of your time in Madrid. We have children seats for 0-20 kg. Ask for availability. The total tour is about 3 hours. This tour requires experience with biking in the city. Madrid’s History, Bites & Sips – An Intimate Tour Since 2018

Come with me on a intimate tour with a nice mix of history, architecture, fun anecdotes, a few jokes and really, really, tasty food (Not the mainstream, cliché, touristy food!). We'll start at the Plaza Mayor and then make our way through the old village, stopping at a local market to enjoy some entrees and drinks. Then continue our historical journey through the most ancient and interesting parts of the old town, to finally end before the majestic Royal Palace. After putting aside the history we’ll finish the tour at a really classic local restaurant where you'll get to taste different, mouth-watering food and local drinks. Of course, aside from the food goodies, we will get an opportunity to chill, know each other better and share some laughs. Come and see Madrid through my eyes, I want to make you feel as if you're walking through the city with a bunch of friends but one of them happens to know a lot about it and is more than willing to share the knowledge with you! Leathercraft Workshop in a Traditional Madrilean Neigbourhood

This experience is for those who wish to discover an authentic Spanish Leathercraft Workshop and learn how to make their own Leather items. I will show the participants the use of the tools used for Leathercraft, many of which havent changed since medievil times. I will also introduce them to the variety of different kinds of leather that exist. Each participant will have the opportunity to use real Spanish Cowhide to create a Leather item with their own hands. In the workshop the participants can choose between a pretty travelling purse (with or without a strap), an original belt, a wallet, two different purses or braided bracelets. There is also the opcion of making a piece different from these which will be designed in the act...maybe something one always wanted to make....a handbag, a mobile phone case, a belt pouch ....if this is the case the teacher should be informed beforehand. Each piece will be unique as we will use technique such as stamping or embossing to decorate it. These techniques were introduced by the Moors hundreds of years ago and have a long tradition in Spanish Leathercraft. There will not be many of us in the worshop so we have the chance to get to know eachother without hurry. For those who dont speak Spanish I speak perfect English as I am originally from Ireland. Other things to note We will be using cutter knifes at one stage of the experience although for those who prefer the Handcraftsman will do the cutting.

Architecture Tour Gran Vía and its rooftops with the best views of Madrid

We propose you learning something else about Gran Vía and surroundings from the urban, historical and architectural point of view since it was conceived more than 100 years ago until its recent last reform. We will start on the rooftop of the Círculo de Bellas Artes, projected by Antonio Palacios, where you will enjoy the best views of the city. Besides, we will know the history of other buildings such as the new headquarters of the City Hall or the Cervantes Institute, Torres Blancas or Colón Towers. After going down the impressive staircase of the Círculo de Bellas Artes and visiting the building inside, we will start walking the first stretch of Gran Vía, stopping at Loewe, the luxury brand where Ava Gardner bought his exclusive bags before going to celebrate the premiere of his films at Museo Chicote with a cocktail together with bullfighters like Luis Miguel Dominguín, as Almodovar has done later in the 80`s. We will visit the Telefónica Building, the first Madrid skyscraper, whose cultural Foundation we will access together. We will continue the journey through the second section of Gran Vía, knowing the old Paris-Madrid Mall, the first luxury shopping center in Madrid. Later we will remember the missing Hotel Florida in Callao where Ernest Hemingway shared nights with international correspondents covering the Spanish Civil War. From here you will enjoy the views of the third section of Gran Vía with its cinemas and musical theaters that we will walk together to Plaza de España where we will finish at the last rooftop. A secret corner where we will have a drink while I tell you the project that will change this square with the Casa de Campo, Sabatini Gardens and the Royal Palace in the background. Access to the first rooftop is not included +5€. It is offered as an option to finish the tour on the rooftop of the Hotel Riu on the 27th floor with amazing views. Access MON-FRI +5€ till 5pm (no queue) +10€from 5pm (queue of 20-30min). Make Silver Ring with a Jeweler

IMPORTANTE: Esta experiencia sólo se ofrece en español o traducida a otros idiomas con medios digitales. Los anillos que se hagan en el mes de agosto serán enviados por correo en septiembre. Cada participante se hará un anillo. Tomará la medida de su dedo y hará un modelo de anillo en cera especial de joyería. Una vez finalizada la preparación del modelo en cera, yo lo llevaré a la fundición y allí se fundirá por microfusión en plata , y lo traeré al taller para terminarlo. El anillo terminado y pulido lo podréis recoger en el taller una semana después (en agosto no) o bien se enviará por correo certificado. Todo el trabajo excepto la fundición se realizará en mi taller de Madrid. Durante la experiencia, conoceremos un poco más el trabajo posterior a la realización del modelo y las técnicas que se usan en joyería. He calculado dos horas para 4 personas, pero normalmente cuando hay menos personas la duración es menor, alrededor de hora y media. NOTA IMPORTANTE: El proceso de preparar las piezas para la fundición lleva unas 16h-20h. Normalmente fundimos los martes, así que se pueden recoger los anillos a partir del jueves/viernes, aunque no siempre es exacto. Si las piezas no entran en esa fundición, deberán esperar a la siguiente fundición. Podéis consultar antes de reservar en que fechas estaréis en Madrid y os puedo decir cuando recogeríais en el anillo o si hay que enviarlo.
