National Historic Registry Home on UTC Campus Near Downtown

Watch the sun set over Lookout Mountain from a rocker on the 2nd-floor balcony. Winner of the Fort Wood National Historic Renovation Award, this home was built in 1891 by Major Joseph Warner, once a Civil War prisoner of War, as the carriage house for his nearby mansion. On the UTC Campus a short walk to exciting Downtown restaurants and entertainment. A very quiet, safe neighborhood away from customary Downtown or MLK traffic noise patrolled by both Chattanooga and UTC police. Dog friendly rental and neighborhood. Enjoy quiet evenings in this friendly neighborhood vs. noisier parts of downtown near busy streets & boisterous bars. This 3-bedroom home with an upstairs sleeper sofa can sleep eight and contains sitting areas upstairs and down, both equipped with Cable TV and Wifi and a laundry room should you need it. The home was built in 1891 and has been totally renovated & updated with modernness. It was built by Major Joseph Warner, a Civil War Prisoner of War, as the Carriage House for his mansion just over the north fence. The owners have restored three Ft. Wood homes so far & each one has been crafted to assure a home environment. This is your private home to enjoy as you & your guests decide. Cross the road to reach the University of Tennessee Chattanooga Fine Arts School. Take a tour of local historic homes, and walk to numerous downtown dining and entertainment spots. Chattanooga's famed outdoor venues are only a short hop away. A city-owned bicycle rental station is just across the street. This quiet, safe neighborhood away from Downtown and MLK traffic noise is patrolled by both Chattanooga and UTC police. A very dog friendly neighborhood. Uber is everywhere - this is a college campus. Or driving to Downtown is less than 5 minutes. Great restaurants, great attractions like the Hunter Museum, aquarium, riverboat dinner, or just strolling through a neighborhood of the oldest mansions of Chattanooga.
