Using your own photo of the Space Needle, we’ll create vibrant, one-of-a-kind prints that capture the magic of this landmark. • Begin with a quick photoshoot around the Space Needle, capturing your favorite angles and perspectives with your iPhone. Then we’ll head to my studio for a coffee and to dive into risograph history and process. • Learn how to transform your chosen photo into a two-color risograph print. I’ll guide you step by step, introducing this sustainable, eye-catching printing technique known for its vivid colors and unique textures. •You’ll take home 10 two-color prints of your photo. You can send them out as postcards or mini prints for your wall! You’ll leave with hands-on knowledge of risograph printing, a set of stunning custom prints, and a new way to appreciate Seattle’s iconic Space Needle.

Take a personalized tour of iconic LGBTQIA+ landmark businesses along Vancouver’s Commercial Drive with me, an artist and owner of the gayest lil’ gift shop in all the land. The Drive is a multicultural and bohemian street that hosts the annual Dyke March. • I’ll kick off by distributing the highly coveted and detailed Vancouver Gay Map before introducing you to the owners of Womyns’ Ware, a women-owned sex-positive shop. • Take a snack break at Elbo Jamaican Patties—which works with Black and queer communities in Vancouver—before migrating to the floral shop Studio Full Bloom. • Browse the deep selection at Mintage Commercial Drive, Vancouver’s largest vintage clothing store, and then JQ Clothing for fun gender-inclusive outfits. You’ll leave with insider tips on queer Vancouver’s hidden gems, and a secret map to guide your future adventures in the neighborhood.

Design botanical jewelry with Portland floral artist

Design and create botanical jewelry using foraged Pacific Northwest materials in my floral studio. In this 90-minute workshop, I’ll guide you in transforming natural elements into wearable art, drawing from my decades of experience as a master floral artist. • We’ll start in my studio behind my house, just two blocks from SE Division, with a tour of the garden and workspace. I’ll introduce the mechanics of wearable art and share samples of my botanical creations. • Choose materials from a curated selection of bark, seedpods, dehydrated mushrooms, herbs, succulents, and blossoms. We’ll dive into the design process, and I’ll coach you on structural techniques and creative elements as you work on a ring, necklace, bracelet, or earrings. • Finish by sharing our creations, and I’ll provide personalized feedback to celebrate your work. This botanical workshop is a wonderful opportunity to spark your creativity and take home a unique piece of art inspired by the Pacific Northwest.

Fragrance Design Workshop

We’ll introduce you to the process and materials that comprise fragrance creation. We'll spend about half the workshop smelling our way through a selection of about 50 raw ingredients, while discussing fragrance and blending techniques. You'll spend the remainder of the workshop developing and blending your own fragrance, with tips and pointers along the way. After this, you'll turn your fragrance into a 10mL oil-based roll-on personal fragrance. You’ll take home your very own scent creation compounded and mixed into a 10mL roll-on bottle of perfume. Other things to note: - Avoid wearing strong fragrances to this workshop as it may disrupt yours' and others' olfactory experience. - Please note we do require one reservation per person; due to the involved nature of this workshop we cannot accommodate extra guests without reservations - Occasionally we run a tad long, please let us know upon arrival if you have a hard out at 3pm! **We will be taking a short hiatus from workshops starting mid-April. We’ll carve jewelers wax into one-of-a-kind creative commitment bands using your creative vision and my technical expertise. We’ll make bands that fit perfectly, look beautiful and represent YOU BOTH in a way that store bought bands never would. As a metalsmith with 13 years experience making fine jewelry inspired by the ocean, I’ll teach easy and fun techniques during our 2-hour private class. We’ll work in my airy West Seattle jewelry studio, stocked with all the tools of the trade and a sweeping view of downtown Seattle. I’ll translate your ring dreams into a wax version of your final metal ring. Do you have an engagement ring? We’ll custom carve your wax to form around it. Do you have diamonds or a heirloom gemstone? We’ll create a unique setting and add it. Are you unsure of the finish or texture you want? We’ll peruse samples of other gold, platinum or silver rings from our library to decide! Custom ideas are welcome—anything is possible. At the end, we’ll weigh your final waxes to determine the cost of your ring. Your wax weight translates to the amount of silver, 14K gold, white gold, rose gold or platinum needed. I will guide you through the intuitive process of making your own SoulCollage® cards and then we will gather in small groups and learn how to read the cards by giving voice to the images. This is where the process which begins as simple creative fun, might suddenly surprise and awaken you! This is a multi-layered creative process that anyone can do. Beginners are welcome and encouraged to attend! Other things to note: Nehalem is located in Tillamook County on the N. Forest hike to Twin and Snoqualmie Falls

This half day tour is a combination of a moderate 2-hour hike (also a few inclines for 7 minutes) to the Twin Falls close up and a visit to the famous Snoqualmie Falls which we drive right up to. I will pick you up in downtown Seattle and drive eastward for about 30 minutes until we arrive at the trailhead. We will hike in old growth forest along Snoqualmie River to Twin Falls and the Upper Falls (1.4 miles), which is a beautiful cascade of waterfalls. After the hike we will drive through North Bend, where the diner from the popular tv show "Twin Peaks" is located and through the historic logging town. Snoqualmie. The locomotives of the time are still on the railroad tracks and the old depot from the year 1890 is in use till this day. We stop to view the Snoqualmie Falls of 270 feet - followed by driving along Borst Lake, where Mount Si is reflected in the often still lake - and then drive back to downtown Seattle.

Spring-Summer photo session in Seattle

If you are looking to explore the beautiful Seattle view and get amazing pictures in the process, you should look no further. The University of Washington is a vibrant campus for a good walk and amazing pictures. It dates back to the 1890s. We will meet at the Drumheller fountain. The Sylvan Grove theater and columns are right nearby so we can get some amazing pictures then we will head to the Cherry blossoms at the quad. With the hope of clear skies, we can get the view of Mt Rainier from the red square and Drumheller fountain on the way to the cherry blossoms. We will then make our way down to the Sakuma Viewpoint to enjoy the Portage bay beach view. The experience will end after 1.5 hours and almost 2 miles, by Sakuma Viewpoint on Boat Street. Other things to note If you are driving, the best and cheapest place to park is on Boat Street where street parking is cheap and usually available. That is also where we will end our session.

Experience Glass Project

While visiting the artist's studio, you learn the process of blowing glass, and basic glassblowing techniques including taking a gather, marvering, blow'n-cap, and shaping glass. The workshop is very hands-on, focused on the process instead of the final product. With experienced glass artists, you make 2 to 3 small objects such as a paperweight, ornament/float, and/or drinking glass, to take home. Glassblowing is a team work. We strongly recommend to experience this with another person. If you are solo, you may still book a spot. However, the single booker should expect to finish earlier. Best to wear a cotton top and cotton pants. Open-toed shoes are not allowed. Please bring a pair of sunglasses with you. Be prepared to be hot and sweaty, and to have fun! BYOB if you like.
