Woodside Cottage is a recently converted and renovated 4 bedroom cottage in Cairngorm National Park. Located only 4 miles from the Lecht Ski Resort and surrounded by beautiful mountains and hiking routes, Corgarff is the ideal location to experience the Scottish Highlands by sightseeing, hiking, skiing, exploring, fishing and bird watching or just to relax. Woodside sleeps 8 people maximum, and has two bathrooms with bath and shower. We have two living spaces, complete with original fireplace.
“We booked this house to replace a cancelled ski holiday and it was everything we needed. It was warm, clean and very well equipped. The open fire in the snug was lovely and we used it every night. The location feels very remote which was great for us and the surrounding area is just breathtaking, beautiful walks on the doorstep. We took all our groceries with us which I recommend as it is a bit of a drive to the nearest shop. We visited the Lecht Ski center on one day, which is just a very short drive away. And we visited Glenshee on another day, about 45 minutes away, but a very enjoyable drive through beautiful scenery. All in all, I thoroughly recommend this property!”
Once a laundry servicing the main house this property has been converted into a comfortable cottage for 2. The property is accessed via its own driveway and has its own garden with plenty of parking. It is a 5 minute walk to the town centre.
“What a gem! We came to Ballater to explore Cairngorm National Park, and Paul’s little cottage was just perfect. Very small and super cosy, with total privacy. In the evenings it is very toasty and we chose to utilise the kitchen to cook our own food and chill in front of the telly. On one night we ventured down to the village (under 10 minutes walk) and ate at India on the Green which was outstanding, and on another we drank at The Deeside Inn in front of a roaring fire and a live band. Our stay was absolutely lovely and could not recommend it enough.”
Live like a local! A wonderful old family home within the Cairngorm National Park this is the perfect spot for peace in nature, fishing, Castles & Whisky, hill-walking, local festivities/history (Forbes in particular) and a really good night's sleep. Enjoy the house itself or the 12 acres of mostly woodlands at our doorstep. Climb to the top of Ben Newe (right out the back door!) Within half an hour of several golf courses and 20 minutes from the Lecht Ski Centre. Enjoy a Newe Experience!
“Kym is a wonderful hostess and we loved meeting her and Jonny, we were late on arriving the first night and were immediately and generously offered a home cooked meal after a very long journey! This is a historical house which sits within lush grounds and dates from 1604, it belonged to Jonny's ancestors and they both take a great delight in sharing its rich and interesting history if you are curious. Our room was cosy and comfortable with lovely fabrics and textiles and we have no hesitation in recommending this place. Great location for hiking too...”
