Holiday rentals in Cross Fell

We had a fantastic stay. Sally and Brian were friendly and welcoming on arrival and have made this home a perfect place for watching nature and relaxing. The squirrels and birds in the garden are beautiful and it is such a peaceful place to sit and watch them. It has a really well equipped kitchen and is very easy to cook there. The bed was very comfy and the shower was fantastic. The area is stunning and there are so many beautiful walks nearby. We also enjoyed the books that were in the cottage, some great walking guides and a beautiful fox story! Highly recommended and we would love to return.

What a lovely, cosy little place. It had everything we could have possibly needed; somewhere to store the bikes, a kitchen, 2 showers, a living area and comfy beds. Sarah was very friendly too and offered a lift into Alston should we need it. There were lovely little extra touches too, like board games, wi-fi, chocolate and fresh eggs from the chickens next door. Price was fantastic too! Will definitely be coming back to stay.

Thank you both Mark and Beth for letting us stay at their beautiful property. Really easy to find, beautiful hut with modern amenities and very private. Lovely area for walks and enjoyed a few days out in Hexham and Corbridge. Had the luck of visiting during the spring meteor shower and as the hut is located within a dark sky area were able to watch the stars on the nights. Everything you could need was provided, and it was very spacious and comfortable. Bed is amazing and shower has a great pressure which is always a bonus. Hosts were super responsive and helpful, nothing was too much trouble. We would love to come back and can highly recommend for anyone looking for a private getaway. Thank you!

Beautiful flat in a beautiful setting. Looking out through the trees to the Pennines beyond. Surrounded by birds and nature. Quiet and peaceful. No need to drive - walk straight out into the wild from the front door. Flat was decorated and furnished to a top class standard with all the utilities and utensils you could possibly need. Dawn and Derek left us to the peace and quiet but were close by to happily help if needed. Great place to get away. Loved it.

Sara was an excellent host. She provided us with great directions and recommendations, a friendly welcome, and even a lovely gift basket on our arrival (with fresh eggs!). The space was cosy and warm, equipped with all the amenities you need for a weekend stay and a great location for accessing the Lake District. Thank you Sara!

We spent two nights at Kate’s place it was absolutely beautiful and so peaceful. The place is decorated to a very high standard and very clean. You have everything you need and more! Even little extras in the bathroom incase you forget anything. I would love to stay again.

A Magical Stay We’ll Never Forget – The Perfect Engagement Spot! Rutter Falls Mill Cottage isn’t just a beautiful place to stay—it’s where memories are made for a lifetime. My partner and I stayed here recently, and it’s safe to say this charming, peaceful retreat completely stole our hearts. Quite literally too—this is where I proposed to my girlfriend, right beside the breathtaking waterfall, and she said yes! The sound of the waterfall is constant and calming, creating the perfect backdrop whether you’re enjoying a coffee on the balcony or falling asleep in the cosy cottage. The location is tucked away, peaceful, and feels like something out of a fairy tale. The Mill Cottage itself is warm, full of character, and beautifully maintained. Every little detail—from the rustic decor to the thoughtful amenities—makes you feel right at home.

We had a beautiful stay here. The space was spotlessly clean and we could sit and stare at the view for hours. Hosts were responsive and incredibly helpful, even with an unusual request :-) the space isn’t lacking anything- we both agree it is the best Air BnB we have ever stayed in! Thank you again, we hope to return one day.

The cottage is in an idyllic location, so peaceful and quiet. The access to the cottage was interesting but this is clear when you book so wasn't a surprise! Would definitely stay again. Thank you
