This was a fabulous airbnb! The space was perfect - clean, comfortable, and had character. The kitchen was well stocked with tools for cooking. Erika was a lovely host. I would love to book here again. Thank you for a great stay!

Water views, log burner, walking, fishing, sailing

MichelleRating, 5 stars2 weeks ago
As a family of 4 including two tweens needing to get off their gadgets, we have LOVED this stay. The views and comfort of the house are phenomenal. As well as sightseeing, we made time just to chill at the house and enjoy time at the reservoir away from it all. This was made possible because the hosts have literally thought of everything and the layout of the house is brilliant for socialising together. The bedrooms are super comfy, the kitchen has everything and there are some nice perks like the log fire, underfloor heating and unbeatable views that just make the house so enjoyable to be in. We took mountain bikes and glad we did, there are endless well kept trails for walking and cycling right from the door and a great park for kids within a healthy walking distance. Communication and information provided were fab, and we will go back for sure!

Hawkhow Cottage, Glenridding

MatthewRating, 5 stars3 weeks ago
The accommodation is really comfortable. Amole seating in the living space. Lovely dining area very airy feeling. Bedrooms and bedding are comfortable and clean. The layout is great for families and the outside spaces are interesting and beautiful. It is set into a hillside and the drive way is steep and can be a little scrabbly. However a minute of walking puts you lakeside of Ullswater which is stunning and clean. 10 minutes walk gets you to Glenridding if you need essentials or a cold pint or glass of wine. Overall I would give it a “I’d stay again for sure” out of 10.

Longriggs

ChristineRating, 5 stars4 days ago
Blissful escape. 100% wholesome. Comfortable, clean, quiet and only the cows, pheasants, swallows and geese for company. Exactly what I needed. The outdoor bath was a joy (taken cold and hot). The pillows were squishy. The bed was comfy. The gas rings and the singing kettle properly practical. Totally relived my Little House on the Prairie childhood dreams. If it's sleep (in summer) that you're after - and not sunrise waking to watch the early morning dew and the pheasants wandering past the door (like me) - an eye mask might be advisable. I've no complaints about the sun though, as enjoying my time the for a few more hours was a bonus. The weather turned rainy on my last day which was the best excuse to light the fire, toast marshmallows and sit under the veranda to watch nature get soggy with a hot cuppa in hand. John came by to deliver news from home which was so very kind. Above and beyond entirely. For pure tranquility, I'd run away to Longrigg again at the drop of a hat.
