For adventure seekers, it is the ideal home base. We are about a 30 minute drive from Gold Bug Hot Springs. We are in walking distance to local restaurants, bars, and the library. A great thrift store is right across the street! There is a local spring where you can fill your water bottles with fresh water.

The Uptown House is the perfect home base and Challis is a great starting point to explore the many sites of the Salmon Challis NF, fish the Salmon River, or simply enjoy laid back mountain living. Located at the upper end of Main Street in old town Challis, this 1930’s store front has been converted to a spacious getaway that is close to local restaurants and bars and within minutes of groceries, gas and shopping making it easy to plan your visit.

It’s just a few blocks from town, with a pool (summer) /hot tub (non-summer) and direct Mountain Views. Secure parking. Service/emotional support animals welcome with a cleaning fee if needed. We can provide a roll away single bed for a linen fee.
