Frequently asked questions

Have a question? We have the answers.

How do the coupons work?

Coupons are not exchangeable, transferable or redeemable for cash and may not be applied retroactively or combined with any other coupon or discount code for Airbnb. If you apply the coupon to a booking that you subsequently cancel, any refund owed will not include the coupon amount. Airbnb reserves the right and discretion to any remedy, including denial of the coupon or suspension of your account or bookings, if fraud, tampering, violations of Airbnb's Terms of Service, or technical errors are suspected. For more information on how to use a coupon, please see the Help Center Article

How many coupons will be released during the campaign?

Coupons will be available on a first come, first served basis and you are only eligible to receive 1 coupon during this promotion. This means the first 180 people to click the “Claim coupon” button while logged into their Airbnb account will receive an email with the coupon code and more information on how to use it. If you don’t have an Airbnb account, you will need to create one to participate. (Due to the likelihood of high demand, it may be a good idea to create your account before the coupon release date.)

Who is eligible for the "First Night On Us" promotion?

To be eligible you must be an Airbnb user and a UK resident, as reflected in your Airbnb account.

What are the campaign's key dates?

The campaign will launch on Friday 20 September 2019, with coupons released on October 3, 10, 17 and 24. Every Friday for 4 weeks, starting on 27 September, we’ll start promoting the following week’s destination(s). Every Thursday at 10am for 4 weeks, starting on Thursday 3 October, we’ll release 180 coupons per destination for that week, available to claim via the destination page. In weeks 1 and 2, we'll feature 1 new UK destination. In weeks 3 and 4, we’ll feature 2 new UK destinations. Coupons expire if you haven't used them (i.e. checked-in for your stay) by 11:59 GMT on 30 December 2019.

What are the main conditions to participate?

Each coupon will cover up to £150 off your first night’s stay (but will cover a lower amount if your first night costs less). The coupons are single-use and can only be applied to stays of 2 nights or more (i.e. they cover the “first night” of your multi-night stay). Coupons can only be used for stays within a 5 mile radius of the town centre of that week’s destination. Coupons expire if you haven't used them (i.e. checked-in for your stay) by 11:59 GMT on 30 December 2019.

Where can I find the full terms of the campaign?
