“I spent 5 weeks at this beautiful house and along with my Girlfriend I enjoyed every moment and it felt like home The house which is in a gated community with security, is set back off the road and very quite. The main road from trece to dasma is right outside and very busy, we walked about 100 meters to the house and all noise of the road was gone, such a real peaceful laidback community The house a 2 story townhouse, looked nice from outside, wall and gates outside, into tiled yard and carport. The smart lock on the door was very handy just type in the code Mae provides and your in, leave the keys inside and dont worry about loosing them if your out and about. Inside the door is the sitting room/lounge area, and into dining area and kitchen. Corner unit sofa and tables and chairs all laid out well plenty of room. The tv is on the wall and has a tv box attached with local filipina tv stations, I didnt watch them much but my pinay girlfriend did, I brought my google cast with me and watched Netflix, prime, Typhoon tv type apps in the evening. The wifi here is super fast and I was very happy with it. The welcome book on the coffee table was a treat, hand made by Mae and gas all house rules, tips, about the local area and where to visit, useful numbers, wifi code, all laid out in a lovely scrapbook kind of way, which I thought was a lovely personal touch. The kitchen is well kitted out for home cooking which saves you money if youd prefer to cook. Gas oven, water boiler, rice cooker. All cutlery and cups plates etc. We cooked daily as my girl been pinay I had the best chef in town. There is local market out by the main road selling everything you need, meat, fish, vegetables, rice etc. Also a 711, and for handy items there is a sari sari store 2 doors away from the house. The stairs leads up to the bedroom. There are 3 bedrooms but only access to one per agreement set out in Airbnb. The bedroom has a double bed and press inside the door to stoor clothes etc. Aircon which is good is on wall by window. At first I didnt know what to make of the hello kitty curtains, bedclothes etc but we didnt mind, but were assured by Mae if we wanted them changed it would be done. The bathroom is across the hall. Toilet and sink. There is no hot water shower, at first been a European and used to electric showers I was a bit annoyed but my filipina girl showed me how they showered using the dobo and bucket and have to say I loved it, simple old fashioned water poured over the head. The water from the tap bes warm and even at its coldest it's no problem. Mae also left toothbrush, toothpaste and soap which was a nice gesture. The phillipines is hot, the aircon helped me sleep. Took a bit of getting used too but I was glad of the cool air at night. I also knew from experience that most neighbourhoods in philly have dogs, cockerals etc. For some reason I could never understand people just allow dogs bark none stop. Thankfully this isn't a problem here. There are dogs and cockerals around and are audible during daytime it's quite at night. Out of the 5 weeks I stayed here only one night did I hear a dog barking for a short time at night. Mae is very fast to respond to any issues that arise. I had only 2 the connector for tv channels had broke, and the water supplying the toilet was leaking from an old fixture. All fixed quick by her Dad who is the caretaker and her Mom came along for the drive, lovely people and very friendly and accommodating. There is no washing machine in the house. We washed everything by hand which is very filipino and way, and hung our clothes on the gate of the house across the street to catch the best sun, the house is vacant so no problems. Other neighbours doing the same, and your clothes are never touched, all safe. If you prefer to use machine there is a laundry out on the road or Mae has a cleaner that will wash for you at a small charge. Transport is right at your doorstep. Buses, jeepneys trikes all stop by entrance bringing you wherever you need. Dasma is only mins away. Balite falls is a short jeepney drive, I reccomend this as a great day out swimming in the cool water, picnic barbie area, and a swimming pool as well. Tagatay is also close by with its volcanoe and sky ranch and peoples park viewing platform. I will be back stay here again. Mae is a great host and the house is lovely. I felt at home and never had a issue enjoying my stay. Thank you Mae and see you again soon”
