Numbi Valley farm is a wonderful example of off-grid, sustainable living. We have abundant organic gardens, a self built cob house, spring fed fresh water plunge pool and an Olive groove all in a very beautiful and peaceful valley of the Klein Karoo. There are scenic walks and cycling routes, yoga sessions and excellent massage on offer. We offer month long stays, where you will be able to work remotely from the beautiful karoo.
“Numbi is not just a gorgeous cottage with breathtaking sunrises and sunsets over the Swartberg mountains and around the most beautiful natural pool but if you come here to learn and dive in it is a truly life changing experience. This has been a dream come true for us and had set us on path towards understanding how to create a space outside of the city that is filled with love and respect for oneself, all beings and this earth. This is a space to recuperate, rest, practice yoga, hike and take in nature but also somewhere you can find life-giving tools for healing, surviving and living the way I truly believe we are meant to. Kath and Ross where the kindest hosts, looked after our every need and what they have achieved here is truly a blessing in a world desperate for answers to a better life for all 😊 🙏🏻”

“Delightful, quaint little character cottage offering quiet, comfortable, sunny accommodation within only 10 minutes from Oudtshoorn's shopping mall, in turn leading to its main street with cafes, shops, restaurants and Tourist information office. There is also a most convenient Spar just 'round the corner' (< 5 minutes' walk). Sharon and Kobus could not have made us feel more welcome and at home and were always eager to provide information, tips, recommendations, etc. We also enjoyed listening to their insights into both local and national historical, cultural, and political aspects. The cosy indoor accommodation was complemented by a generous north-facing (i.e. sun-facing - Southern Hemisphere) open front terrace with bench, table and chairs, as well as a selection of sun loungers around the pool further down the garden. The location was within easy reach of a number of local attractions including nature reserves, mountain passes, and the world-famous Kango caves. Just a note of caution that some of the remote attractions can only be reached along unmetalled roads comprising spectacular potholes, ruts, loose stones, but are absolutely passable with an ordinary saloon/hatchback vehicle, but your bum might thank you if you can afford hiring a 4 x 4 :-)! Conclusion? If you value human warmth and kindness, quaintness without sacrificing comfort, and a strategic location for exploring the area, look no further than Sharon's place.”
Set on one of the biggest working Ostrich farms in Southern Africa, only a 10 minutes’ drive from Oudtshoorn centre. Our 12 luxury boutique camping tents are positioned around a big water dam that is surrounded by various game like zebra, kudu & eland. *Please note that Oudtshoorn is experiencing a severe drought and low dam levels can influence the amount of wildlife sightings.
“Fantastic experience, this was the perfect combination of nature and comfort. The accommodation had every amenity needed from fluffy blankets for sitting out at night on the balcony to plenty of firewood for a great braai overlooking a waterhole. A highlight was watching the springbok just metres from our balcony as they moved across the farm. We opted for a braai dinner & breakfast pack which was better than we could ever have arranged ourselves! Beautiful lean steaks, boerewors & chicken kebabs with some lovely homemade salads for dinner. It was perfect after our walk around the park. Fresh fruit, muesli, yoghurts, muffins, rolls & juice for breakfast, we were well ready for the day! We have had a wonderful stay here and hope to return again another day for longer.”
