“Absolutely amazing. The little extras (for example a flashlight) made the stay even better. I'm a travel nurse and highly suggest to any healthcare provider (esp during this Covid19 virus pandemic) to choose this cozy place. Everything you'll need is provided and beats a hotel !!!!”

“Hospitable, Immersive, and Convenient! We had already made plans to stay at Destrahan Plantation - the Oldest in Louisiana, so when we learned they are giving Louisiana residents an immersive guided tour (Reg. $22/adult) for FREE with our stay, we couldn’t wait to arrive. Being only a 20 minute drive from New Orleans, Destrahan Plantation is an easy choice for a quality staycation in our state! Booking was super simple through AirBNB, and Melissa’s warm hospitality was immediately felt through her quick and informative responses. She also gave us a heads up on some bonus perks upon booking - we’ll let you have the same pleasant surprise when you book! Check-in was a breeze and the space in the Marie Claire, the larger of two cottages, accommodated our family very comfortably. We slept soundly amongst the Grand Oaks on the lush King Bed with plenty of amenities for our needs/convenience. In the morning, we enjoyed the coffee provided as we watched the sun rise through the Historic setting around us. The gift shop was a short stroll away, and it not only had every Louisiana Souvenir we could imagine, it also served as a full on Louisiana visitors center with hundreds of guides and coupons to attractions throughout our state. Then came the tour! Our guide, Brenda, had a fun and upbeat personality, and her passion for Destrahan Plantation and Louisiana history was clear. The time flew by, and with each new room and corridor, we learn so much Louisiana history. We couldn’t help being in awe of the fact that some of the very Live Oaks that envelop the grounds of Destrahan Plantation today were there when the first owner’s occupied the land and saw generations of enslaved, and then freed people walking and working under their canopies. We would absolutely recommend staying at, admiring, and touring the Destrahan Plantation, and we certainly look forward to returning soon!”
My place is midway between New Orleans and Baton Rouge (less than 50 minute drive from each). You’ll love my place because of its beautiful restoration, its outdoors space, the ambiance, the people, and the neighborhood. My place is good for couples, solo adventurers, business travelers, families (with kids), and big groups.
“Excellent location for visiting the plantations. Very spacious and beautiful house that we had for ourselves (anyway there is only one bedroom), with 2 bathrooms and kitchen, Carl brought us breakfast in the morning. Recommend if you want to stop on the road, that's what we did and we were very happy with our choice. Carl was also good advice for dinner in the evening.”
