“This cottage is absolutely magical! Situated on a mountainside overlooking the Himalayas its hard to think of a more peaceful and beautiful place on earth. We were prepared for a rather rustic stay but found the cottage to be really comfortable and beautiful. The house is really a home with so many small lovely details. We stayed one week with our 2 year old daughter and would have loved to stay even longer. Dhakpa cooked a tasty breakfast and dinner for os and bought fresh buffalo milk in the morning. The small neighbour village is good for hanging out with the locals and getting a few vegetables. Everyone was so friendly with us and invited us for breskfast and tea. Cannot recommend this place enough !”
Our Apartment is just outside Bhaktapur Durbar Square; which in our opinion, is the most peaceful and beautiful of the three kingdoms. The longer you stay, the more the magic emerges. The apartment sits above our clothing shop that sells naturally dyed and handwoven garments. Clean air and beautiful morning light, a haven from the hustle and bustle of the big city.
“This place is wonderful. The location is great for a few days as you can watch the life of Bhaktapur pass by from every room. You don’t even need to leave the house for this. The steep stairs were not a problem. The house was clean, the shower was great. It’s probably worth being aware that if it gets cold you’ll need warm clothes and to rug up....which is exactly what we did..The neighbours are lovely as is the shop owner downstairs. We were very glad to stay there. We stuffed up and arrived a day early and Suni came all the way from Kathmandhu to meet us...despite me offering to stay elsewhere for a night. This was not expected but much appreciated.”
Krishna House is a homestay and a bed & breakfast owned and operated by a local newar family. Newars are indigenous people of Kathmandu valley well known for rich culture. The property located in the historic Bhaktapur is close to World Heritage of Bhaktapur Durbar Square, Taumadhi and Pottery squares. Our aim is to feel guests like a part of family. We try to assist in any way, specially by providing information about Bhaktapur and other destinations in Nepal. We offer genuine Newari meals.
“Mr Abaya’s place is just fantastic! I stayed for a week and was amazed by the warm welcome Mr Ajaya and his wife gave me. They were attentive to details such as loaning me their umbrella, providing a water boiler, making warm porridge in the morning, helping me gett around and getting a taxi. Mr Ajaya’s love and knowledge of the history of his city and surroundings is quite communicative. I learned so much, and he always checked with me daily to give me more ideas of places to visit.. He even took me on a private tour of Bhaktapur where he opened my eyes to so many hidden gems! Their home is ideally located just outside of the business of the city, yet at a walking distance from everything, and ez walks or bus/taxi rides from surrounding treasures. It is clean, quiet, and beautiful. I will be back! Thank you again Mr Ajaya!”
