In Conversation with Gill
Gill's always had a busy job as a nurse, but now she's also a host. Passionate about all things Liverpool, Gill loves living in Waterloo near the coast. She's always recommending places to her guests - from the local water sports facility to the coffee roastery on her doorstep.
“The extra income from Airbnb has allowed us to reduce our normal working hours to get a better work-life balance.”
Gill can now spend more time doing what she loves, kayaking, paddle boarding and travelling with her partner around the UK in their new camper van.

“Hosting in the suburbs of the cities is great for people who just want to nip into the city but then come back and spend their evening at local independent places and get the best of both worlds.”
Gill enjoys the variety of culture, art and cuisine that Liverpool has to offer, and is always keen to point her guests to her favourite local restaurants like The Bus Yard at Crosby Beach.

“Airbnb's anti-party rules make me feel more secure as a host.”
Gill welcomes guests from all over the world, but Gill and her neighbours are confident knowing that there are Airbnb noise and nuisance policies there to support them.

“It’s not clear what impact new government rules will have on hosts. It’s nerve-wracking.”
Gill values the flexibility that hosting on Airbnb provides, and is concerned about the impact that more restrictive rules could have.
