In Conversation with Kyli
When Superhost Kyli moved into her first home with her son and their cat, Milo, she discovered that hosting on Airbnb was the ideal way to manage the rising costs of homeownership. Her serene, plant-filled ground-floor flat, in a converted Victorian house in Highams Park offers guests more than just a place to stay—it’s a welcoming space, where they truly feel at home.

“Most people haven’t heard of Highams Park and I like being able to introduce them to the area. Guests come to stay for lots of different reasons, like visiting family and exploring the city.”
Kyli takes pride in helping her guests discover all that Highams Park has to offer. With her insider tips, guests can explore the area’s best-kept secrets, from cosy cafes to picturesque nature trails.

“We’ve got a lovely little high street with independent coffee shops and wine bars. I share local recommendations with my guests, like my favourite places to eat or shop and where to go for a nice walk."
For Kyli, the financial boost from hosting has made all the difference. It’s helped her stay on top of the bills and ensure that her son has a fulfilling and active childhood, from after-school activities to family trips.

“Losing the extra earnings would have a detrimental effect on me and my son. If I couldn’t host, I wouldn’t have the financial buffer for any sort of emergencies around the house or to support the after-school activities.”
Kyli loves the flexibility that hosting on Airbnb provides, allowing her to balance work, family, and meeting new people. But she worries that restrictive regulations could make it difficult to continue hosting, impacting the financial stability she’s built for her family.
