Hi, this is Jason. Over the years, I often go for a walk in the mountains with my two puppies, Nuomi and Harry. They like nature's plants and trees, and they are happy every time they enter the mountains. Wait until airbnb launches the experience, so there will be this line
1 Time: about 3 hours on foot, in the afternoon (3 o'clock in winter, 5 o'clock in summer, according to sunset time) depart and go downhill for dinner.
2 Distance & Intensity: 5km trip, can be easily and happily finished
, Children over five years old often participate. Usually two or three people go together, and occasionally five or six people. The same goes for a person.
3 Elevation rise: It is not climbing to the top, about 200-300 meters above sea level, but with a wide view overlooking Erhai Lake and the entire Dali Dam.
4 is a very representative natural scenery of Cangshan, you don’t need to go to the conventional Cangshan scenic spots
5 Tickets: No need to buy tickets. No other expenses for the whole trip
6 The cost includes: afternoon tea, home-cooked dinner (vegetarian guests can communicate in advance, we can provide vegetarian meals)
On the way, there are so many things in Dali!
[History] The ruins of the ancient city of Nanzhao Dali Kingdom
[Bazi] Overlooking the entire city and village of Dali under Cangshan Mountain
【Erhai Lake】Overlooking the sweeping vast Erhai Lake
[Mountain Spring] The clear stream of Cangshan Mountain (Tingxuan Creek)
[Temple] The main temple of the White King hidden in the mountains
[Ancient Tea Horse Road] A village that is not well known about the Ancient Tea Horse Road
The whole trip is easy and pleasant. Many places along the way have a wide view, overlooking the Dali Dam and the Erhai Lake. Most people can easily complete it, which is equivalent to a walk in the mountains.
Generally, we start from the village at the foot of the mountain and walk a section of the ancient tea-horse road through the walnut grove and fields. Of course, my puppies are also together, the Scottish Terrier Harry and the Tibetan Terrier Nuomi.
The ruins of the ancient city of Dali Kingdom in Nanzhao
The gurgling water of Tingxuan Stream flows down from the high mountains at an altitude of 3,600 meters. The stream is cool and clear all year round. Along the mountain road for ten minutes, you can overlook the ruins of the ancient city of Nanzhao (the existing ancient city was built on the new site of the Ming Dynasty). It has a wide field of vision, overlooking the Erhai Lake, the peaks and ridges of the Cangshan Mountains, weeds and trees. Such a vision is rare in Cangshan. Moreover, here you will have a deeper understanding of the history of Nanzhao Kingdom in Dali. It's perfect to watch the sunrise here.
Temple in the mountains
This quiet monastery was originally the Dali Royal Summer Palace. It is dedicated to the protector god of the Bai nationality. From a hillside here, you can overlook the entire Dali Dam, the Three Pagodas and other buildings. Sitting under the tree, looking at the open scenery, I feel comfortable.
Ancient Tea Horse Road Village
This is our end. The past was a resting village on the Tea Horse Road. Most of the ancient buildings in the village are well preserved. There are some inns and cafes, but they are still not well known, so it is still a quiet and quiet village. When I walked here, I saw the mountain spring well still in use, the place where the villagers rested, and the big banyan tree, which seemed to be back to some ancient time.
The whole mountain road is about 5 kilometers, and the tour and rest time is about three hours, which can be regarded as a light exercise hike. Of course, the main thing is to appreciate the natural scenery and not hurry.
Back down the mountain. Let's go to the Guanyintang courtyard for dinner together. This is a small building in the courtyard of a traditional Bai family. You can learn about the style and features of the local houses. There is a Guanyin Temple next to it, so this village is also called Guanyintang.
