Your home from home in Lewes. Pretty house, and gardens in a tree lined street.
Perfect for Glyndebourne, weddings, visiting family or universities, walking on the Downs. Pretty room, on ground floor, looks onto enclosed front garden, with olive tree, herbs, flowers and veg. If you stay in the ground floor garden room you can more or less treat this as your own, unless of course I am gardening. It is slowly becoming more chic than shabby, but the whole thing is work-in-progress!
We live within walking distance of most amenities and attractions. Ten minutes on foot through conservation land to town centre. Close to Leisure Centre, swimming pool and gym, tennis courts, park, gardens, and ruins of 10th century Cluny priory.

Peaceful, bright, double attic bedroom in Victorian terrace cottage on quiet friendly neighbourhood street, just round the corner from centre of Lewes and the vibrant Cliffe High Street - with pubs, cafes, restaurants, shops, cinema and South Downs. Easy walking distance to train station (14 mins) with direct links to London, Brighton, Eastbourne, etc, and also buses to Brighton, Tunbridge Wells, etc. A fluffy cat also lives here, but he's technically not allowed upstairs.
Comfy Warren Evans double bed and mattress. Black out blind at window in bedroom to ensure uninterrupted sleep (also fan as it can get hot at nights in the summer)! There's space for your stuff in two chests of drawers, ample hanging space, desk - overlooking the secluded patio garden and views to the Downs (birds sing in the morning so ear plugs provided, if needed!)
Lewes is a fantastic place to visit - very peaceful, historic, beautiful and interesting - but there’s always something going on at weekends and evenings - great pubs, restaurants, brand new cinema, lots of live music - and of course surrounded by fantastic countryside. Great to be located so centrally as everything's within easy reach - can walk from one end of Lewes to the other in less than an hour and the Cliffe area, where I live, is quite flat so easy to get about before tackling the South Downs or visiting the castle up the hill! Please be aware parking on street has limited availability at weekends and evenings. You have to pay for parking (parking meters with option to pay via mobile phone) between Mon-Sat 9am-5pm . There are also a number of car parks close by within easy walking distance - again availability might be limited at weekends. If you’re coming by train, the house is a 14 mins easy walk (direct trains to Lewes from London (Victoria and London Bridge) and Brighton, Eastbourne, Glynde, Seaford, Hastings, etc.

This is a welcoming home in a quiet cul-de-sac off the vibrant Cliffe High street, 2 minutes walk from the beautiful South Downs. A second, larger, double room is available "Large Sunny Room with Cliffe View". Also the whole house "Charming Victorian Terraced House", sleeps 6 can be rented. Free Parking available and continental breakfast provided.
The double room includes a very comfortable small double bed, desk with mirror, chest of drawers and hanging space. It overlooks some beautiful, scented, pink roses. There is another larger double room available on Airbnb, "Large Sunny Room with Cliffe View", see other listing. Normally during the Summer months there is a two night minimum stay at weekends. The beds are very comfortable and I only use 100% cotton sheets. There is a bathroom with a bath/shower/sink and a separate loo and sink.
Lewes is a beautiful historic town with lots of character. I love the fact that it is small enough to walk around and from every corner you have amazing views of the south downs, the castle and the river and access to a huge variety of walks - hilly or flat. I have the advantage of living in a quiet street while at the same time being one minutes walk from a variety of restaurants, friendly traditional pubs, independent shops, cafes - and the original Bills. Harvey's brewery is also in the next street and you can walk across the downs to Glyndebourne Opera house. On a hot day you can nip down to Seaford for a swim in the sea or have one in Lewes's own outdoor pool, the oldest outdoor freshwater swimming pool in England. There is a large and eclectic musical and artistic scene and there is also a very good new three screened cinema built in the old Brewery, incorporating a café and comfortable seating areas, only 5 minutes walk away.

This is a cosy, lived in home, not a hotel, in a quiet cul-de-sac off the vibrant Cliffe High Street with its antique shops, cafes, brewery, restaurants and a couple of minutes walk to the beautiful South Downs National Park. It has 3 double bedrooms and a lovely flower filled garden. Free parking.
My home is cosy, comfortable and lived in - not a characterless space. It has my own personal belongings in it - books, records, paintings, wood carvings, piano, my cat etc. You are welcome to play the piano or light a fire on cold winter nights. As you can see from the photos it is not a modern house or modern décor. It is not a hotel, so if that is what you want it would not suit you. I love it and I love my guests to love i t- if they see the magic then they add magic to the house. I love my guests to feel at home which is why I want it to attract the sort of people who will feel at home here. The garden is also a little oasis (not manicured). I like planting flowers that attract bees and butterflies and I have lovely fragrant climbing rose. It is a lovely place to sit in the Summer. Lewes is a beautiful, historic town nestled in the heart of the South Downs National Park. My house has the advantage of being a in a quiet cul-de-sac yet right off the Cliffe High street with all its antique shops, cafes and restaurants and Harveys Brewery. At the same time it is a couple of minutes walk to the tranquility of the South downs. Lewes boasts a castle a river, the Priory ruins and various other historic buildings. It is close to Glyndebourne Opera House, Charlston and Monks House, Seaford and the Severn Sisters
My house is in a unique location being so close to all Lewes has to offer and 2 minutes from beautiful walks. I live in a wonderfully quiet street with the downs on one side and the river on the other and café,s restaurants etc in between. Lewes is so special in that it it has such a rich cultural and historic diversity and history , is surrounded by the most beautiful country side and is small enough to walk from one side to the other.
