Conveniently situated next to Glasgow Green with excellent transport links to city centre (10 mins) and west end (20 mins).
• Bright, colourful and very clean & tidy.
• Upstairs - bedroom, living room, bathroom. Please make yourself at home and treat this space as your own.
Your room has a comfy double bed, armchair/love chair, wardrobe, lamp, bedside table, towels & linen.
• Downstairs - kitchen, utility room.
I work from home in a converted kitchen space on the downstairs level. The domestic kitchen is separate, which you are free to access.
*** there is no central heating, as I work with chocolate the temperature needs to be fairly cool (around 16°C) the upside of this is if you have a sweet tooth and love chocolate you'll be too high on happy hormones to notice :)
The flat itself is situated on the first floor within a block of flats, with free parking to the front and rear of building.
• Cosy lounge (next to your bedroom)
• Bathroom (shower & bath)
• Domestic kitchen
• Breakfast - help yourself to tea, coffee, cereal, bread, juice, milk etc.
• WiFi (free)
Make yourself at home, and feel free to come and go as you please. There is no curfew, and I can be up late chocolate making sometimes so I'm very flexible.
You can also use the kitchen to prepare evening meals, but please no very spicy food as I make and store confectionery in the room next door.
I'm more than happy to offer recommendations on good places to eat, drink & be entertained, and also help with directions and transport links.
I may be busy during your stay, especially if I have an event or festival lined up but I'll be around and as helpful as I can.
You're encouraged to treat the flat as you're own. If you'd like complete privacy that's absolutely fine too.
Bridgeton is situated in the east end of Glasgow next to Glasgow Green. The neighbourhood itself is quiet, with minimal traffic and I've always felt safe and very welcome here.
Bridgeton Cross is 5 minutes walk from the flat where you'll find well stocked convenience stores, takeaways and the Glasgow Women's Library. The GWL is a wonderful research facility with archived collections and contemporary and historical artefacts on women's lives, histories and achievements.
If you're a football fan Celtic Park is a 5 minute walk from the flat.
A 10 - 15 minute walk and you'll reach Glasgow Green on the banks of the River Clyde. Lots of open space to jog, cycle, kick a ball or picnic on a sunny day while admiring the stunning building that was formerly the Templeton Carpet Factory.
Take in a bit of culture in the People's Palace & Winter Gardens or relax with a cold craft beer and a bite to eat in West Brewery & Restaurant.
15 - 20 minutes walk to trendy Dennistoun and Duke Street where you'll find plenty more diners and bars, bakeries and Drygate Brewery which has a huge selection of craft beers, great food, events and a curated Sunday (fortnightly) craft market which is well worth a visit.
Bridgeton Cross (5 mins walk) has great public transport links.
