Room to let near all amenities in Glasgow
£ 16
Bright charming top floor corner flat with a comfortable double room a minutes walk from the station - 10 minutes from the city centre. Close to the lovely Queen's Park and very near to Hamden Park stadium but otherwise the area is quiet and pleasant.
The flat is very bright as it is on the top floor of a corner tenement building in south side Glasgow. As these style of buildings are very old they unfortunately do not have lifts. Please be aware of this if you have trouble walking - we're both happy to assist with luggage too. We have white walls with high ceilings and wooden floorboards. The room fits a double bed very comfortably and has draws and a rail to hang clothes. Guests will have complete access to all amenities in the kitchen. The bathroom and kitchen will be shared with us. You will have access to the home wifi. If guests would like to wash some clothes we would be happy to put on a wash for them although we do not have a tumble dryer. We will supply guests with fresh towels and clean bedsheets. They can also help themselves to shower gel and shampoo etc. Also feel free to make yourself tea and coffee! We like to meet all of our guests and get to know them as we love meeting new people. But if you'd prefer to keep to yourself it isn't a problem, we're not intrusive at all. Basically we want our guests to feel at home during their stay, and we are always approachable for anything they my need. We also both work from home and can occasionally be up late working on deadlines although will try our best not disturb you in the sleeping hours.
We are a minutes walk from the station and the city centre can be reached within 10 minutes or a 10 minute drive. Our neighbourhood is fairly residential with a lot of families. We are close to Hampden stadium which means the area can be quite lively during events but otherwise its a quiet area. We're a 10 minute walk to the lovely Queen's Park which gives you a view all over Glasgow when you reach the middle of it. There are lots of coffee shops and small restaurants in the south side - our favourites are bakery 47 & Milk. Mount Florida station is visible from our flat so if you are travelling to our apartment by public transport I would recommend the train as the easiest way to reach us. You can get the train from Glasgow Central and its a 10 minute journey. If you are arriving to Glasgow from Queens Street station or Buchanan Bus Station I would recommend the short walk to Central Station. You can also get a bus from central, the 4, 6 , or 6a and get off on battlefield road opposite a Sainsbury's Local a few stops after passing New Victoria Hospital. If you are coming from the Glasgow Airport there is a shuttle bus every 10 mins to the city centre. Get off at the second stop as that will be round the corner from Central Station. You can also get a TAXI as they are not too expensive, I would recommend Network Cabs - (PHONE NUMBER HIDDEN), or Hampden Cabs - (PHONE NUMBER HIDDEN) as they are the cheapest! Parking is free most of the time and you'll find a space within a few streets if not on our street. You will have to watch out for days when there is an event on at Hampden stadium though as in those days you do have to pay and will receive a fine if you don't have a pass. Although you will not have to move it far if you don't want to pay.
  • Jonathan and Stella were very kind hosts and their flat was next to a train station were you could get to the city centre very fast. The room was clean and spacy and we were able to help ourselves to a cup of coffee or tea.

    Julia September 2016
  • Jonathan and Stella have only recently made the move from London to Glasgow and are settling in. We liked the way they have decorated the apartment. Don't forget to take a look at the painting in the bathroom! They both made us feel at home from the start and we had some good conversations with them. Unfortunately we had to move on as it was the last day of our holiday, otherwise we may have spent a few more hours chatting. The bed was comfy and the apartment is very bright.

    Jeroen & Hélène April 2016
  • Fantastic stay with Jonathan and Stella, lovely bright flat close to public transport and Hampden Park Stadium. Stella met us when we arrived and was very friendly and helpful. The overground train station is less than 5 minutes away making getting into the city centre very easy. Would recommend heartily.

    Antony September 2016
  • Lovely couple, very friendly! Great apartment, and they gave us great recommendations for Glasgow and for the Mount Florida area.

    Patrick September 2016
  • The host canceled this reservation 60 days before arrival. This is an automated posting.

  • I stayed with Stella and Jonathan for 3 weeks. Since the first day they were very welcoming and kind and made me feel like home. They are really positive people so the apartment is always full of joy. They were always willing to help me and take care of anything i needed. The location of the flat is literally 2 minutes from the station and it takes a 10 minute ride to be in the city centre. Trains are regular and often. The room is very comfortable and quiet and it has lots of spaces for clothing etc. even for a longer stay like mine. I would strongly recommend a stay in this cute flat with its lovely hosts!

    Nikolaia July 2016
  • This is such a beautiful home!! A fantastic apartment in a lovely neighborhood. The apartment is so bright, charming, and with gorgeous things to look at all over the place. Great windows/views, too! Stella and Jonathan were absolutely lovely hosts--sweet, considerate, fun, communicative, and respectful in every way. I would wholeheartedly recommend this flat and the hosts to anyone looking to visit Glasgow. I had a wonderful time and would very gladly go back.

    Siddhartha June 2016
  • Unfortunately Stella was away and Jonathan was working so we didn't get to meet them, but everything was set up for our arrival and we got in without any issues. Jonathan's communication was excellent and even though he wasn't there himself he made sure we were well looked after. The flat is on the top floor with about 60 steps up to it, which isn't ideal for anyone carrying heavy luggage, but we managed! The place itself has a lovely unique style and lots of big windows so very well lit. It was just what we were after for a short stopover to catch an early flight from the airport. Just a note that we used Uber taxis rather than those suggested. Both had poor ratings so we avoided! Cost us just over £13 so excellent value. Thanks for having us!

Top Floor Bright Double in Southside

My place is in a listed building & close to parks, art and culture, great views, restaurants and dining, high street shops, cinema, underground, bus and train stations. You’ll love my place because of its central location and clean, peaceful environment. My place is good for solo adventurers and business travellers.
  • Thank you! Great room and location.

  • Have no hesitation recommending this room for a stay in Glasgow, whether business or pleasure. Excellent location nr the city centre (easy walk to both main train stations) and room and flat generally in immaculate condition. Good WiFi and desk in the room for work which was particularly important for me as a business trip. Hosts all good and Leon gave a good intro to the facilities and a friendly welcome when I arrived. Last but not least I thought excellent VFM overall. Will definitely be on my list of places to stay in future when thinking about a Glasgow booking!

    Tim July 2016
  • A lovely couple with a beautiful home - a great place to stay!

    Eleanor August 2016
  • I stayed with Shona and Leon for a couple of nights. They are a lovely couple and did everything they could to make my stay enjoyable. The bedroom was fantastic with a really comfortable bed. The house was very clean and in a very convenient location. I highly recommend that you stay with them if you come to Glasgow.

    Andrew July 2016
  • Very comfortable double room in central Glasgow. Shona and Leon were in touch before hand to make my arrival easier. Once there, they were very welcoming hosts and helpful. I would certainly recommend them as hosts to anyone coming to Glasgow!

    Anton July 2016
  • They have a very nice cozy home which I can see that they have put lots of effort in decorating the interiors (which made me feel like home) and making all the basics and necessities tidy and clean and easily accessible. The convenient location of the place is also a plus - I didn't worry much when I checked in late at night and the next morning I can get to the city centre within walking distance! Although I just stay in the place for one night and only had a short chat with Leon when I checked in, I can feel that he is a very nice guy as he tried his best to answer all the questions from me and introducing the surroundings to me. Also they were very responsive to my accommodation request and kept in touch with me all the time before I arrived. I wish I could stay longer with them as the people and the place are both very nice!^^

    Ada August 2016
  • it's in a quiet neighborhood while only take 8-10 mins walk to shopping area and city center. The room / bathroom / kitchen is super clean and everything is just same as introduction and pictures, all are as expected. I only met Leon, he is a nice guy, provide everything I need and tried best to answer my questions. even got a message to ensure I had a sound sleep during the night in the morning the day after. A good stay and will consider another stay when visit Glasgow next time.

    David August 2016
  • Shona and Leon were so nice and helpful! The room was spacious, the bed was super comfortable, and the bathroom and kitchen were both very clean. The location was very convenient too. I had a wonderful stay at their place. I would definitely recommend staying with them!!

Room in city centre listed building
£ 32
Our place is good for couples, solo adventurers & business travellers. If you like being bang in the centre of all the action, then this is the place! With gigantic windows over the busiest clubbing street in the city, there is always plenty to see! The heart of the city is a bustling, vibrant and busy place - if you're a very light sleeper, this may not be the best place for you. However, we do provide ear plugs and a white noise machine to help guests get a good night's sleep.
With gorgeous big Victorian windows overlooking the Glasgow School of Art, this is a really unique place to stay. It's a busy street, so don't expect silence at night - rather, this is like being in a city that never sleeps! We have just renovated the whole flat, painting it in Farrow and Ball colours and installing a brand-new Ikea kitchen with all-new appliances. With super-soft cotton bedding and a snuggly duvet, it's a great place to rest your head after a busy day (and night!) out. All of it! My husband James and I will be on hand throughout your stay if you have any questions or concerns, or just want some tips about places to check out!
We're in a fantastic central location a fifteen-minute walk from George Square and about ten minutes from the West End, so we're pretty handy for most things you would want to see and do in Glasgow, be it the School of Art, Kelvingrove Museum, shopping on Buchanan Street or going for drinks in the Merchant City. We go out for dinner a lot so do ask us if you'd like a recommendation, or for us to book a table somewhere for you! You can walk pretty much everywhere from here - it's about a ten-minute walk from Buchanan bus station, about fifteen minutes from Glasgow Central train station and is close to several bus routes too. There is also the option of Uber for getting to and from the airport - it normally only costs around £15-20. If you have trouble sleeping, we do supply earplugs and a white noise machine - however, it should be noted that without either of these, the street noise can be quite disruptive so unless you are used to sleeping in a city environment you may struggle with this.

  • Whilst Joshua was a friendly host, his communication before and throughout my stay was somewhat lacking. The location is very close to the bus depot and a short walk into the city centre. No wifi available but this is stated in the description and the blinds didn't shut properly so I slept with the sun beaming through the window. Rooms were clean and tidy.

    Paul July 2016
  • Joshua was a great host. Very friendly and he looked after us before, during and after our trip. It was exactly what we needed for a one night stay.

    Dan June 2016
  • We stayed three days at Joshuas home and it was really nice. Joshua wasn´t home when we arrived but he asked friends to let us in and hand us the keys. The bathroom and the kitchen were clean, so was the rest of the flat. The flat had less furniture, which appeared a little strange to us. But we had everything we needed and Joshua was a great and friendly host and was there for questions. The flat is really close to the city centre, you just have to walk 5-10 minutes. It´s been a great stay, highly recommendable! We had a

  • Joshua was kind and helpful. His place is couple minutes walk from the city center, so excellent location. The apartment was clean and tidy. He let us store our bags until late evening so we could explore the city more. Overall a pleasant stay - would recommend!

    Júlia July 2016
  • Location of the flat was excellent (very close to Buchanan station, center of town). Host was out of town, but made sure we had a contact on the ground to give us keys and written description of the unit. The flat was as described but was missing some basics (clean towels, certain bathroom essentials).

    Vikram August 2016
  • Joshua has been a very good host, always easy to reach & friendly. The place is close the buchanan bus station which is perfect when you come from/go to the airport and you need to take buses to travel in Scotland. The city centre is at a perfect walking distance, we took the bus only to go further to the west in the city. There is no wifi at Joshua's place but you can get wifi almost everywhere in the streets and in cafes. I recommend this place to stay in Glasgow.

    Constance September 2016
  • So great staying here. If Joshua is an example of the people of Glasgow I should consider relocating to here. Thank you very bottom of my heart

    Darren August 2016
  • Joshua was a nice and welcoming host. The room is nice, big and spacious and the location is convenient. The appartment was very clean and Joshua and I had nice conversation. He even cooked me breakfast!

Glasgow City, private room for 1/2

The BEST of both worlds: SUPER-QUIET flat AWAY from busy traffic, but RIGHT in the CITY CENTRE 2 min to Tube & bus stop 10 min to rail station 5-10 min to most downtown shops/facilities/venues etc 15-20 min to most Westend spots Professionals/Singles/Couples on conf/business/tourism all welcome SAFE area, next to a police station Friendly, Multilingual Host: non-Student Local keen to help you on a 5-star stay CHECK-IN 4-5pm in person (recommended), autocheckin after. Read details
1. Super-quiet bedroom - an enclosed balcony on one end and a locked-up storage room on the other insulates it from outside noise. (Outside noise if any is sparse due to some adjoining streets being cul-de-sac.) Such peace and quiet is hard to find anywhere in the city centre! 2. Bathroom with shower and bath - see details below. --- I live in the flat too; however, you will have your own bedroom, and ++direct access to the bathroom without going through other living area.++ With this you have the guarantee of utmost privacy. --- Secure entry to the building (you'll be given your own key-fob to use). Lift/elevator present. ALL major CITY-CENTRE/WEST-END venues within about 15/20 MINUTES by foot! --- Longer-term booking (up to 2 working weeks) occasionally available when booked several weeks in advance. Your own bedroom with double-mattress, clothes-storage rails, a full-length wardrobe for exclusive guest use. You are welcome to use the iron/ironboard and other useful, travel-friendly items provided as well. Your room is for the exclusive use of the reserved persons for the entire duration of the reservation. Bathroom, with WC, washbasin, shower and bath (also used by your host). Rush-Hour Priority: During the morning rush hour, i.e., 7-9 am, guests shall have *priority access to the bathroom* facilities, so that it's convenient for you to get ready and leave in the morning to get to a conference, work or sightseeing. (You'd never see me come in your way during this period (barring an unforeseen emergency!)) Beyond the Standard Offering: If you have any other requirements, DO speak to me during the booking or right after. As the bathroom, your bedroom and the exit door are all connected via a separate hallway, you have full privacy and the option to be by yourself. However, should you want to speak to me, about anything -- get tips about the city, etc., I'll be more than happy to do my bit. You'll find me in my living room at most times.
The Flat: The best of both worlds - peace and quiet and right in the heart of the city - hard to find! Tip: Glasgow City Centre is the area that forms a rough square to the south and east of the M8 and north of river Clyde. The Area: Cowcaddens, the area where the flat is located, is in the North-Western corner of the city centre, which also means you are within walking distance to much of the West End, and of course from anywhere in the City Centre. The Town and Beyond: Glasgow is the ideal location for most people visiting Scotland - it is the door to the highlands, is Scotland's largest and, after London, Britain's 2nd largest city for shopping and similar activities. All major locations in the Central Belt of Scotland, including Stirling and Edinburgh are within ~ 1½ hours by train from Glasgow! And the train station for these are within 10 minutes from the flat! Your Friendly Tourist Guide: I have an extensive set of recommendations of venues in Glasgow - please see the Guidebook (https://www.airbnb.co.uk/rooms/5950976/guidebook) for an exhaustive list. Joggers/Nature-lovers Note: The Speirs Wharf canal area north of the flat just across the motorway is an excellent bit for a jog or even a nice calm walk whatever the weather. Check out the pictures! --- Just Ask Me: Beyond what's in the guidebook, I'm happy to furnish more details of nearby facilities or tourist locations, just send me a message of anything you want, or want to know, and I will get back to you. You're Central and Handy: You are within 20 minutes by foot of everywhere in the city centre and a good part of the west end too. Tube Next Door: The Cowcaddens Tube (Subway) station is right next to the courtyard, where our 'Clockwork Orange' connects you to the city centre, south side and the west end. Buses: Beyond the bus stop within 2 minutes, the Buchanan bus station is 9 minutes by foot. Trains: Further, the two railway stations of Glasgow are within 10/15 minutes by foot. Know all you Need: Once you reserve with me, I will send you a bunch of info including routemaps, directions, recommendations, etc etc. My Commitment to You: This is NOT a bunch of non-local students subletting (illicitly, as it happens) their rented flat to make some extra money by the side. Providing a good service matters a lot to me: I sincerely want you to have a 100% perfect stay and given a chance will do everything in my capacity to help. So, at any time before or during your stay, if there is anything you want or want to know about, please just ask! If you don't, I trust you are satisfied with what I've provided. The more you let me know of your needs in advance, the better I can make sure you have a 5-Star experience. --- Check-In: PLEASE inform me of arrival details and check-in preferences in ALL cases, and at the earliest. The ideal window is between 4pm and 5pm, for a personalised check-in, wherein I ease you in myself. This is recommended. However, check-in is possible any time after that as well, which is usually by means of an automated process. You will be given special instructions on how this works, so please remember to ask me about this. (I'll still try and give you a personal check-in if I'm around, but I cannot promise beforehand.) Early Arrival: If you are arriving in Glasgow before the check-in time, you are welcome to drop off your bags at the door and head out - the place itself might not be ready as I often have back-to-back bookings. Please discuss with me. --- Amenities: Towels, toiletries and a bunch of other items provided (see House Manual and the link given on reservation for full details.) While I ask you not to smoke in the flat, I can show you a nice spot outside the flat where you can have a relaxing fag. I can even give you a wee foldable stool to take with you there if you like to savour your ciggie seated. Just talk to me about it. --- Local Bookings/Reservations: If you need help with booking of tickets for journeys, concerts etc, I'm happy to see what I can do - this might be particularly handy if you are liable to face additional charges for using a non-UK card on UK websites. In such a case, you can send me the necessary booking money via airbnb and I can make the bookings and payments on your behalf from my card. Also, if you need for any such tickets to be posted to a physical address, you can ask to use mine, please get in touch with me on this. Unfortunately, the flat is not suitable for pets, babies, children or anyone with disabilities. Sincere apologies. Several cafes, restaurants and takeaways serving all popular cuisines are dotted around the area. There are also several breakfast options within minutes of the flat. Here's a list of amenities and places of interest within a stone's throw: Marks and Spencer Tesco (Open till midnight every day except Sunday) Sainsbury's Boots Pharmacy Costa Coffee Post Office Several ATMs and the major banks John Lewis Primar...
