Bright charming top floor corner flat with a comfortable double room a minutes walk from the station - 10 minutes from the city centre. Close to the lovely Queen's Park and very near to Hamden Park stadium but otherwise the area is quiet and pleasant.
The flat is very bright as it is on the top floor of a corner tenement building in south side Glasgow. We have white walls with high ceilings and wooden floorboards. The room fits a double bed very comfortably and has draws and a rail to hang clothes. Guests will have complete access to all amenities in the kitchen. The bathroom and kitchen will be shared with us. You will have access to the home wifi. If guests would like to wash some clothes we would be happy to put on a wash for them although we do not have a tumble dryer. We will supply guests with fresh towels and clean bedsheets. They can also help themselves to shower gel and shampoo etc. Also feel free to make yourself tea and coffee! We like to meet all of our guests and get to know them as we love meeting new people. But if you'd prefer to keep to yourself it isn't a problem, we're not intrusive at all. Basically we want our guests to feel at home during their stay, and we are always approachable for anything they my need. We also both work from home and can occasionally be up late working on deadlines although will try our best not disturb you in the sleeping hours.
We are a minutes walk from the station and the city centre can be reached within 10 minutes or a 10 minute drive. Our neighbourhood is fairly residential with a lot of families. We are close to Hampden stadium which means the area can be quite lively during events but otherwise its a quiet area. We're a 10 minute walk to the lovely Queen's Park which gives you a view all over Glasgow when you reach the middle of it. There are lots of coffee shops and small restaurants in the south side. Mount Florida station is visible from our flat so if you are travelling to our apartment by public transport i would recommend the train as the easiest way to reach us. You can get the train from Glasgow Central and its a 10 minute journey. If you are arriving to Glasgow from Queens Street station or Buchanan Bus Station I would recommend the short walk to Central Station. You can also get a bus from central, the 4, 6 , or 6a and get off on battlefield road opposite a Sainsbury's Local a few stops after passing New Victoria Hospital. If you are coming from the Glasgow Airport there is a shuttle bus every 10 mins to the city centre. Get off at the second stop as that will be round the corner from Central Station. You can also get a TAXI as they are not too expensive, i would recommend Network Cabs - 0141 557 1110, or Hamden Cabs - 0141 649 5050 as they are the cheapest! Parking is free most of the time and you'll find a space within a few streets if not on our street. You will have to watch out for days when there is an event on at Hampden stadium though as in those days you do have to pay and will receive a fine if you don't have a pass. Although you will not have to move it far if you don't want to pay.
  • Great experience with Stella and Jonathan! They had a nice apartment in a quiet neighborhood, just a two minutes walk from the closest train stop. The bed was comfortable and the shower was incredible!! They made us feel very welcome and I would definitely recommend staying with them

    Quinn April 2016
  • Stella and Jonathan provide a gorgeous, well-situated flat and a clean, cosy room. They were so kind and accommodating; we thoroughly enjoyed our time with them.

    Mia May 2016
  • The flat is truly beautiful, the room was cosy, the bed comfy and the next train station is only a minute away, so you are at the central station of Glasgow in around 10 min, what is really perfect. Stella and Jonathan are friendly and relaxed persons. I didn't see them really often because they stayed only in their own room and didn't came out a lot of times. I had the feeling that they avoid the contact a little bit and that's why I didn't felt really welcome. The first night was unfortunately pretty noisy (tv, hair dryer, banging the doors - the walls in the house are thin and not soundproofed) what made it hard to find sleep until they went to bed at 2.30a.m., but the second night everything was perfect.

    Elisabeth May 2016
  • This is such a beautiful home!! A fantastic apartment in a lovely neighborhood. The apartment is so bright, charming, and with gorgeous things to look at all over the place. Great windows/views, too! Stella and Jonathan were absolutely lovely hosts--sweet, considerate, fun, communicative, and respectful in every way. I would wholeheartedly recommend this flat and the hosts to anyone looking to visit Glasgow. I had a wonderful time and would very gladly go back.

    Siddhartha June 2016
  • We didn't get to spend much time with Stella but Jonathan was super helpful and gave some great advice on what to do during our short stay. The room and bathroom were clean. It is far from city center but easily accessible by train. Bed was okay but the owners made it worth it, would have loved to spend more time with them.

    Meghan May 2016
  • Jonathan and Stella have only recently made the move from London to Glasgow and are settling in. We liked the way they have decorated the apartment. Don't forget to take a look at the painting in the bathroom! They both made us feel at home from the start and we had some good conversations with them. Unfortunately we had to move on as it was the last day of our holiday, otherwise we may have spent a few more hours chatting. The bed was comfy and the apartment is very bright.

    Jeroen & Hélène April 2016
  • My hosts Stella and Jonathan were lovely and very friendly. They make you feel relaxed and comfortable. This was my first Airbnb, so slightly apprehensive. No need, it was home from home with easy conversation. The aesthetic highlight is the dining area bay window. I'll be back if they have me! Location wise, it's not the centre of Glasgow but easy access and public transport seconds away, both train and bus. Excellent Indian restaurant at bottom of street. I commend this Airbnb. Note for anyone with mobility issues. It's a lovely Glasgow tenement, but it doesn't have a lift and is on the 3rd floor. I left healthier than I arrived.

    Gori December 2015
  • Great cosy and stylish apartment in a very central location. Beautifully building and very comfortable living space with fairly easy parking nearby. Loz & Rob are very welcoming and friendly explaining everything we needed to know! A very pleasant one night stay, definitely recommend and visit again.

    Albert April 2016
  • Loz and Rob were absolutely wonderful! They accommodated our check-in time when we had to come later than originally expected and took the time to give us a full tour of their gorgeous home, as well as offer multiple recommendations for things to see in the city, directions to our concert venue, as well as restaurants and cab companies. The history of their building was very interesting (I won't spoil the surprise) and the entire flat was clean, welcoming and comfortable. As hosts, they were immediately friendly and more than willing to share anything with us (asked us if we wanted coffee or snacks as soon as we were through the door). Though we didn't use the gym, we had full access! Also, Pluto was an absolute treat! Nothing better than a happy puppy greeting you when you're tired from travel.

    Kaylee April 2016
  • Our stay in Glasgow was amazing. Loz&Rob were so helpful, friendly and kind that it felt more like visiting old friends rather than staying at peoples house who we had never met before. Room, Bed and the flat overall was very lovely and tidy and more than what we needed for a weekend trip. The Spa section of the building was exactly what doctor ordered after a fierce Glasgow winds&rain and really created extra relaxation. Rob and Loz both had lot of suggestions what to see and where to go for eat and I think we need to go back to go through all of their suggestions :) Oh and shouldn't forget Pluto! One of the friendliest dogs ever! :)

    Milja December 2015
  • Warm welcome & fantastic hosts. Thoroughly enjoyed my time staying with Rob & Loz. Both such lovely, kind and generous people. Parking not a problem, room was lovely and cosy and the sauna — exactly what was needed after a long day.

    Adam September 2015
  • Loz and Rob made us feel very welcome and we could not ask for anything more! They suggested many sites and attractions and their room was super comfortable. It really helped having the sauna and jacuzzi after being in the cold all day. Thanks again!

    Dominic January 2016
  • This was not only our first visit to Glasgow (we came to see the tennis) but also our first stay using airb&b. We were not disappointed. We were greeted by Rob and their lovely dog Pluto. Rob showed us around the apartment which was lovely. Rob explained that nothing was problem, if we needed a lift anywhere or required any information on anything, including where to taste the best whiskey, we just had to ask. Our room was lovely and had everything we needed including dressing gowns and slippers. The apartment itself is part of a conversion of a once thriving distillery so it had a great look. There's use of a pool but we simply didn't have time to use it.....next time. Rob and Loz are great hosts and we have no hesitation in recommending a stay with them.

    Anthony September 2015
  • Rob and Loz were very friendly and welcoming. We felt very comfortable as it was our own home. The property was very tidy and clean with a modern interior design as described. We truly enjoyed our stay and will definitely return back to Rob & Loz when heading to Glasgow. The view from the property was also astonishing which provided a great feeling when we woke up. Thumbs up!!! We will definitely return.

  • Amazing location - walking distance from everything we wanted to do. Rabbia was very helpful and communicative and made check in easy as we were arriving very very late. Bed was comfy but the green exit sign light makes the room seem less cosy. Thank you for our stay!

  • That was a superb stay. Arita is very kind, welcoming, warm, and gave us a lot of helpful information. I recommend this listing. Thanks Arita!

    Yiming April 2016
  • Over all excellent communication prior to and during our stay with Arita and Kris. They were very welcoming and gave plenty of tips for things to do in the city. The apartment is clean and tidy and their little dog is just amazing, so cute but not overpowering the way some small dogs can be. We only stayed for one night but if we were to go back to Glasgow then we would most likely stay again. The building where the apartment is located is not easy to find but thankfully there is a very friendly pub on the corner nearby where we asked Arita to meet us as we just couldn't find the place even though it was right in front of us. The private space within the apartment is ideal for a couple - private bathroom, plenty of light but, with thick good quality curtains and a door that leads onto the roof terrace. We would recommend this place to friends and family if they don't mind staying in someone else's place.

    Susana June 2016
  • I dealt mainly with Arita and she was very kind, flexible as well as incredibly helpful. The apartment is in a great location, it's quiet and has a fantastic balcony. Arita and Kristaps understand the needs of an Airbnb guest and deliver a service that caters to that. Their apartment is an excellent choice if you're looking for a short term stay in Glasgow!

    imran May 2016
  • Arita was really friendly and helpful (offering maps, food and recommendations). She was also regularly in contact with us throughout our stay and tried her best to make us feel at home. The flat was as described in the listing and really well located. If you are a dog lover, you should definitely stay because Charlie is an adorable little thing. We'd definitely recommend this place.

    Mariana May 2016
  • They made us feel very welcome in their lovely flat! The bedroom is great and so nice to have brekkie on the terrace! So close to the centre of Glasgow, not even 5 mins walk! Would stay again. Thank you :)

    Tessa June 2016
  • Had the pleasure of meeting both hosts during my stay, both Arita and kristaps were lovely and even shared their breakfast with us! Charlie, their jack Russell puppy was absolutely gorgeous ❤️ Convenient location (little bit hard to find but once you find the gate it's fine). Nice apartment blocks, really nice apartment, lovely room and bathroom attached with private access to the balcony. Shared kitchen with hosts which was fine as it meant I got to play with Charlie more! Very convenient location, 10 mins walk to town. Lovely little touches in the room. Would definitely stay here again and highly recommend - thanks guys!

    Eliza March 2016
  • The hosts were lovely, great with communication and very accommodating. The flat was fantastic - super central, felt safe, clean, comfortable...

    Rose January 2016
  • Arita and Kris were perfect hosts. It was easy to communicate with them and our check-in was seamless. They were so friendly from the moment we met, and we got to play with their adorable puppy! Our rooms was very spacious and everything was so cute. The bathroom was spotless too. We enjoyed our stay in Glasgow and are so happy to have met such wonderful hosts. The location in city center is great for sightseeing too, so I highly recommend staying here if you're ever in Glasgow!

En-suite with rooftop terrace
£ 43
Fabulous, extremely light and spacious RUSKIN ROOM with small en suite in my apartment built in 1855. Rate includes breakfast. Near Glasgow University in the heart of the West End. City centre 10-15 minutes. I also have another HAMILTON ROOM listed.
I HAVE ANOTHER ROOM listed as "Super comfortable room (The Hamilton)" which may be available if this one is booked. You can find it on my profile page. https://www.airbnb.co.uk/rooms/3122693 A SELF-SERVICE CONTINENTAL BREAKFAST is included in the room rate. The fridge in your room will be stocked with breakfast items for you to sample at your leisure. Breakfast includes: fruit, yogurt, a selection of cereals, bread, butter, marmalade, jam, tea, coffee, milk and orange juice. Please let me know if you have any dietary requirements and I will do my best to accommodate you. I provide semi skimmed milk and generally Irish soda bread, so please let me know if you prefer a different type. IN THIS VERY LIGHT AND SPACIOUS ROOM there is: a small en-suite shower room; a super king-sized bed; a cupboard to hang clothes in; a chest of drawers; a monitor to watch DVDs on; an armchair with foot stool; a dining table and chairs, a (silent) small fridge, a Nespresso coffee machine, kettle and tea making things. I provide all bedlinen, towels, bathrobes and a hair dryer. The room is lockable and you will be given your own key. There is also WiFi throughout the flat. I have a travel cot available. Please let me know if you would like this and I will reserve it for your room. WHO LIVES HERE? Myself and sometimes my partner. I have two rooms listed on Airbnb, so I may have guests in the other room during your stay. I also rent a room to an artist friend of mine, which she uses as a painting studio when she is not working as a tutor. PRIVACY & HOUSEKEEPING. I don't enter the guest room during your stay in order to give you privacy. If you are staying for a week or more, I will arrange for a convenient time to clean your room and change the bed linen. MY GUESTS ARE WELCOME TO MAKE USE OF the kitchen (including tea, coffee, sugar, milk, herbs, spices and oils). I keep a shelf free in one of the kitchen cupboards for your groceries and also a shelf in the kitchen fridge. The living room is for the hosts use only, but the guest rooms are spacious and the dining kitchen is large enough to hang out in. I aim to make you to feel at home here. I provide semi skimmed milk, so please let me know if you prefer a different type. I LIKE TO GREET GUESTS MYSELF. If I can't be at home when you would like to arrive, I use the key safe box next to the front door. I would arrange this in advance, email you the security code for the box and be able to give a rough time of when I will be back to meet you. I supply a Glasgow map, a print out of my local guidebook and any advice about the city requested. I always stay in the flat on your first night and occasionally spend a night away if I am visiting friends, etc. but would discuss this with you before making plans. Check-in is 14:00 hours onwards and check-out by 11:00. If you would like to arrive before this time, please get in touch and I will see if it is possible. In any case, you can drop luggage off and collect keys earlier if it suits you. After check out, I am happy for you to leave your luggage for collection later in the day if that helps.
THE LOCAL AREA has a good mix of small independent shops and quality high street names. It is a foodies' heaven with two specialist cheese shops, butchers, vegetable and whole-food shops, numerous delicatessens and stores such as Waitrose and Marks and Spencer. There are also wonderfully atmospheric second hand book shops, vintage and retro clothing stores, gift shops, jewellers and of course plenty of coffee shops, restaurants and bars. There are a wide range of places to eat from great value budget to widely acclaimed, well established restaurants. Five of Trip Advisor’s top ten restaurants in Glasgow are within 15 minutes walk. Nearby Ashton Lane is great for visiting during the day and evening for shopping, coffee, eating, drinking and catching a film at the Grosvenor Cinema. Music and plays can be found at Oran Mor, Kelvinbridge and Cottiers theatres and various pubs also hold more informal music sessions. LOCAL ATTRACTIONS INCLUDE: the Botanic gardens with its lovely tea room terrace; Kelvingrove Park with great views from the top of the hill and Kelvingrove Museum and Art Gallery; Glasgow University and both its Hunterian Museum and Hunterian Art Gallery with its must see reconstruction of the Architect Charles Rennie Mackintosh's house; the Kelvin Hall International Sports Arena (I've only ever played table tennis there!) and the River Kelvin Walkway which runs along the river and joins up with the Forth and Clyde Canal and forms part of the Cycle Path Network. A LITTLE FURTHER AFIELD, about 25 minutes walk away, will take you down to the River Clyde. Along the waterfront there is plenty to do from visiting museums (Riverside Museum of Transport, Tall Ship Museum, Science Centre) to attending shows and exhibitions (Scottish Exhibition and Conference Centre, Clyde Auditorium, IMAX cinema) a tour around the BBC Scotland building or even a trip on the Waverley, the last seagoing paddle steamer in the world. In the direction of town you can visit the National Trust Tenement House, Charles Rennie Mackintosh's Glasgow School of Art and Willow Tea Rooms, as well as a range of art galleries, cinemas, theatres, clubs, music venues and world class shopping! THERE ARE EXCELLENT TRANSPORT LINKS with bus stops right outside (8-15 mins to city centre), Kelvinbridge underground station 5 minutes walk (6 mins to centre), 20-25 minutes walk into the city centre and a short drive to join the M8 motorway at Junction 17. Also Glasgow airport is only 20 mins away by taxi or about 40 mins by public transport. PARKING There is metered parking on the surrounding streets. FREE ON-STREET PARKING is available 5 minutes walk away on Queen Margaret Drive. It is also free to park on Great Western Road on Sundays and from 6:30pm to 7:00am daily. The parking meters on Hamilton Park Avenue only operate from 8:00am to 10:00pm, so it is free outwith these hours. PARKING METERS CHARGE 20p for the first 30 minutes then 20p per 10 minutes after that for a maximum of 3 hours. Alternatively, you can purchase visitor's parking permits from me when you arrive at cost price. They are £2.00 each and are available for three different time periods: Morning 8am-2pm Afternoon 12 noon-6pm Evening 4pm-10am JUST TO LET YOU KNOW, there are a couple of negatives which also have plus points. As I live near a main road in a great area with bars and restaurants nearby it can be noisy with traffic and revellers at night. This tends to be more so from Friday - Monday, students Freshers week in early September and when students finish their exams at the end of the summer term. Also, the flat is located on the second floor with two flights of stairs and no lift, but the extra light does make the interior brighter. The en-suite shower room is lovely but very small. There is a step to get into the shower and the opening between the doors is not very wide. Feel free to contact me if you have any questions.
  • Head a great time at Lucy's in this wonderful room. Bathroom new, modern, clean and pleasant breakfast facilities. Westend in Glasgow is great with nice boutiques, food shops, bars, theatres. Visit of Botanical Garden a must. City Center easy to reach. Will definitely return soon!!! Miss it already!!!

    Anja June 2016
  • The listing was very accurate. Both the host and the room exceeded our expectations. Lucy made us feel very comfortable right from the beginning by offering to help with our bags and showing us to our very well prepared room. She was indeed a super host and had everything in the room that we could want or think of. The neighbourhood was very safe and attractive and close to the university and many good cafés and restaurants. Lucy had prepared much information on her favourite places and suggestions on what to see and do in the neighbourhood and in the downtown area. The food that she had in store for a do-it-yourself breakfast was just wonderful: fresh fruit bowl, three kinds of cereal, fresh bread, a variety of delicious organic yogurt, milk and orange juice, various teas and a good coffee machine. Lucy replenished these supplies as needed and she even did up our dishes. The room was gorgeous and full of light even on a dull day due to bright white walls and large south facing windows. If you wished to have it darker there were good shades on the windows. The bed was very comfortable. She was very friendly, knowledgable and interesting. All in all a perfect host. My wife and I agree that this the best Air BnB experience we have had yet.

    Don May 2016
  • Lucy is a wonderful host, friendly, kind and most helpful. She is efficient in response and keep the elegant apartment super clean and comfortable.

    Juniper May 2016
  • Lucy was a wonderful host and she cared for everything. With her help we discovered the most interesting places in Glasgow in only one day. The room was nice and clean, the breakfast was great - everything was fine, like she described it on the website. We recommend this place very much to everyone who wants to stay in Glasgow! Thank you, Lucy! Andrea & Constanze

  • Lucy's place is just perfect! The bedroom is HUGE and the bathroom is always CLEAN! Lucy is such a lovely and charming person - I enjoyed my stay with her very much! Will absolutely book her place again! xxxxx

    Yvette June 2014
  • If Lucy's flat is available on your chosen date and you are still reading reviews STOP reading now and book this room before someone else beats you to it!! Lucy's flat is incredible, massive flat and bedroom, very clean, warm, and tastefully and thoughtfully decorated. We especially loved the heated tiles in the bathroom and thoughtful little touches such as premium hand soaps and lotions, sweets, water and glasses, guides to the city and a house manual, Lucy is one organised lady! Location was easy to access the CBD by bus or not too far to walk either! Lucy and her room mate were incredibly friendly and welcoming. We only regret not staying longer!!

    Ashlee April 2014
  • Lucy has thought of absolutely everything to make this flat an extremely comfortable and charming place to stay while visiting Glasgow. We found the location to be super as it was close to many interesting sites, restaurants, pubs and shops, buses to the square frequent. The flat is sparkling clean, very spacious, bright, modern and very comfortable. (We even checked the bed as we're thinking of changing ours and found this one suited us perfectly) We especially appreciated the books and DVDs - Glasgow and Scotland themed - made for some interesting reading and viewing (Whiskey Galore! was an 'oldy, but goody') Breakfast things provided, lovely kitchen, cosy robes, disposable ear plugs (not needed, by the way) - all nice touches. Lucy has really gone above and beyond to make her guests feel right at home.

    Gilles September 2015
  • Just returned from a wonderful weekend staying at Lucy's. The room is as lovely as it looks in the photos and there are all the little extra touches other reviewers have pointed out to make this a really luxurious place to stay. Lucy couldn't have been more helpful with advice on what to see/ where to eat etc. and was a fantastic host throughout. Our first visit to Glasgow and our second airbnb experience and a resounding success on both counts! Thanks Lucy!
