  • I stayed here in January/February 2016. The room was comfortable and located in a great location in West End. Andrew is responsive to messages and his housemates were also great.

    Anthony February 2016
  • Andrew arranged with his (SENSITIVE CONTENTS HIDDEN) to let us into flat at our convenience. It's in a lovely residential part of Glasgow and we easily found parking close by. Our room was spacious, clean and the bed large and very comfortable. We were invited to use the kitchen and just stack our dishes in the dishwasher but we didn't need to because we treated ourselves to breakfast in one of the many cafes nearby. Would recommend to friends and return ourselves.

    Judy February 2016
  • Very beautiful place located in a convenient location. Andrew was very responsive and accommodating with our requests. Had a great trip and it was very much due to this wonderful listing.

    Isaac January 2016
  • One of the best places I've ever been, clean, nice and good location, the host was very nice and we had everything we need.

    Ana Mari January 2016
  • The flat of Andrew was amazing !! Great location in the gorgeous west end area of Glasgow with city center reachable really easily via the metro stop only 5 min walking away from the flat. Stunning view as well from the windows. And above all really clean. This is without a doubt the best AirBnb deal that I've did by far, 5/5 for Andrew!!

Charming artsy room in West End
£ 29
Welcome to our lovely flat in the West End. We live in a traditional Glasgow tenement flat on a quiet residential street with beautiful shared gardens nearby. 10 minute walk to University and Byers Road shops/cafes/bars, 20 minutes to city centre.
This is our home - we have been living here for the past 4 years and it is filled with all our things making it homely and inviting. It's a really spacious 2nd floor flat, with a big kitchen/diner and a large living space with traditional bay windows. Our bedroom is light and airy with a big, comfortable double bed. We now also have a sofa bed in the lounge for extra guests. The bathroom is bright with a good powerful shower. There is a bright and spacious kitchen with dining table and fridge, freezer, gas hob, electric oven, microwave and washing machine. Because we still live here some of the time there are loads of utensils and things to cook with in the kitchen and we'll make sure there's always some shampoo, things to read, and milk in the fridge! We now also have a sofa bed in the lounge for extra guests or if you'd rather not share a bedroom! It's perfect for one and cosy but comfortable for two. Let us know if you plan to use it and we can leave out bedding (we have a duvet, pillows and sheets for you to use). When you are staying here you will have exclusive use of the whole flat and we want you to feel at home and treat our flat with care as we would :-). We will only interact with you to give you keys and show you how everything works. The space is then yours but one of us will always be nearby if you have any problems. Olivia is from Glasgow and Ross has lived here for 5 years so we both know the city well and can give advice about places to go/things to see or do/where to eat.
We live in the West End of Glasgow, which is perfect for the cafe and shopping culture the West End is famous for. Kelvingrove Park and the Botanic Gardens are a ten minute walk away, the busy shopping street of Byres Road is a ten minute walk, and we live five minutes from Great Western Road. While famous for its shopping, cafes, and bars, the West End also has numerous museums such as Kelvingrove Art Gallery; the Tenemant House, Glasgow School of Art and the Riverside Museum are also easy to walk to. The University of Glasgow is 15 minutes walk. Our street is very quiet and residential with traditional sandstone architecture all around. It is possible to walk into the City Centre from the flat, it will take about 20-30 minutes, but we live 5 minutes from Kelvinbridge Underground Station which can easily and cheaply transport you around the city. There are also great bus links on nearby Maryhill and Great Western Roads. There is lots of free on street parking outside the flat if you plan to arrive by car. All in all a great location! We have a small dog (a border terrier called Mea) but she will not be staying in the flat with guests! Although we will make sure the flat is very clean for your stay, if you have a severe allergy to dogs our flat may not be suitable :).
  • Excellent hosts and a gorgeous apartment. We had a lovely stay and I highly recommend it. Parks, shops, restaurants and coffee shops easily accessible at just a short walk. Thanks for having us.

    Ryan February 2016
  • Gorgeous apartment in an excellent location. Clean, quirky and cosy. Highly recommended. Ross was a great host. Thanks so much again. Silvia and Eoghain

    Silvia Fiddes December 2015
  • Ross was very accommodating and even came to pick us up when we got a bit lost! The apartment was just as described and very clean. It was within walking distance to many attractions we wanted to see.

    Josephine October 2015
  • We had a wonderful stay in this beautiful apartment - everything was perfect: light, airy, comfortable, clean and great location! Really straightforward and easy with hosts - thank you Ross and Olivia!

    Peter January 2016
  • Fantastic flat in perfect location. A very cozy stay. The flat is loaded with amenities which was appreciated. The vintage boards games were also good fun to play over a glass of wine and conversation. Thanks Ross and Olivia!

    Dana August 2015
  • This is a beautiful and very spacious apartment not far from the University of Glasgow and 15 minutes away from the city center by subway. Ross was a wonderful host (I didn't get a chance to meet Olivia). He went out of his way to let me to check in very early even though he had other guests that morning; and he helped me to get a taxi to the airport on the way back. The Scottish sweets he left for me were lovely! The apartment feels like a real home and has more than everything that a guest might wish for. I appreciated the opportunity to browse through a nice collection of books!

    Elena September 2015
  • Ross and Olivia's place is stunning. It's in a great neighborhood, and the apartment itself is cozy and feels like home. Ross was very gracious and kind, and helped us a bit in navigating Glasgow; he also worked with us / stayed flexible with our schedule, which was much appreciated! We only stayed here one night, but we definitely would stay here again!

    Chelsey October 2015
  • Great hosts! Extremely helpful and accommodating! We needed to check in early due to a wedding we were attending which Ross didn't have a problem with. The flat is beautiful, clean and tidy. Very close to the centre of Glasgow and on a nice quiet street. Would highly recommend.

  • Loz and rob are excellent hosts with great knowledge of the local area. We had a great stay in their lovely apartment and would reccomend it to anyone wishing to visit glasgow

    jim September 2015
  • Warm welcome & fantastic hosts. Thoroughly enjoyed my time staying with Rob & Loz. Both such lovely, kind and generous people. Parking not a problem, room was lovely and cosy and the sauna — exactly what was needed after a long day.

    Adam September 2015
  • Loz Rob & Pluto were excellent host's. Loz couldn't have been more welcoming and helpful when we arrived. Really nice Flat in an excellent location, Just a 5min walk and we were in the center of town which was handy for us as we were running late for a gig. Rob was really nice in the morning for letting us use the pool and was good chatting with him. All round nice experience and we will be sure to contact them if we are down in the area.

    Grant April 2016
  • The room we stayed in was spacious, beautifully decorated and with a comfortable bed. Rob was a really good host, he made us feel welcome and recommended several places to eat. We foolishly forgot a phone charger at home and Rob tried (and succeeded!) to find us another charger. Thank you! We also went to the sauna, steam room, swimming pool and jacuzzi - an amazing way to start or finish off your day. Overall highly recommended place to stay when in Glasgow.

    Anna October 2015
  • Our stay in Glasgow was made so simple by staying at Loz and Rob's. Even though Loz was away, Rob was beyond hospitable: waiting up for us to arrive, staying up late to chat and give us expert advice about where to drive in the area. Fantastic accommodations and beautiful flat. So grateful for their welcoming spirit.

    Kaylee October 2015
  • Absolutely great accommodation! On arrival we were warmly welcomed by Rob, Loz and Pluto :) Rob showed us around the place and highlighted some of the places to go in Glasgow. Free parking and walking distance from the center. Pool, spa and gym are a big plus! (Plus the love for Formula1;)

    Peter November 2015
  • Loz and Rob have a beautiful flat, a big, friendly dog and delicious coffee. The guest room is spacious and bright -- perfect for getting an early start on your sight-seeing! The bed is comfortable; the guest bathroom is across the foyer with all the amenities. I brought the wrong adapter (Asia instead of UK) on my trip. Even though Rob had a presentation to work on, he very nicely lent me his computer plug when both my phone and computer were dying.

    KIM September 2015
  • Regrettfully Loz and Rob were away at night and I only had a 1 night stay in Glasgow for business. But as short as it was, it was a great pleasure. Loz made me feel welcome at their nice appartment. Beautiful building and walking distance from city centre. Room was spacious and had a good bed. Next time again but I hope a bit longer.

Fabulous, extremely light and spacious RUSKIN ROOM with small en suite in my apartment built in 1855. Rate includes breakfast. Near Glasgow University in the heart of the West End. City centre 10-15 minutes. I also have another HAMILTON ROOM listed.
I HAVE ANOTHER ROOM listed as "Super comfortable room (The Hamilton)" which may be available if this one is booked. You can find it on my profile page. https://www.airbnb.co.uk/rooms/3122693 A SELF-SERVICE CONTINENTAL BREAKFAST is included in the room rate. The fridge in your room will be stocked with breakfast items for you to sample at your leisure. Breakfast includes: fruit, yogurt, a selection of cereals, bread, butter, marmalade, jam, tea, coffee, milk and orange juice. Please let me know if you have any dietary requirements and I will do my best to accommodate you. I provide semi skimmed milk and generally Irish soda bread, so please let me know if you prefer a different type. IN THIS VERY LIGHT AND SPACIOUS ROOM there is: a small en-suite shower room; a super king-sized bed; a cupboard to hang clothes in; a chest of drawers; a monitor to watch DVDs on; an armchair with foot stool; a dining table and chairs, a (silent) small fridge, a Nespresso coffee machine, kettle and tea making things. I provide all bedlinen, towels, bathrobes and a hair dryer. The room is lockable and you will be given your own key. There is also WiFi throughout the flat. I have a travel cot available. Please let me know if you would like this and I will reserve it for your room. WHO LIVES HERE? Myself and sometimes my partner. I have two rooms listed on Airbnb, so I may have guests in the other room during your stay. I also rent a room to an artist friend of mine, which she uses as a painting studio when she is not working as a tutor. PRIVACY & HOUSEKEEPING. I don't enter the guest room during your stay in order to give you privacy. If you are staying for a week or more, I will arrange for a convenient time to clean your room and change the bed linen. MY GUESTS ARE WELCOME TO MAKE USE OF the kitchen (including tea, coffee, sugar, milk, herbs, spices and oils). I keep a shelf free in one of the kitchen cupboards for your groceries and also a shelf in the kitchen fridge. The living room is for the hosts use only, but the guest rooms are spacious and the dining kitchen is large enough to hang out in. I aim to make you to feel at home here. I provide semi skimmed milk, so please let me know if you prefer a different type. I LIKE TO GREET GUESTS MYSELF. If I can't be at home when you would like to arrive, I use the key safe box next to the front door. I would arrange this in advance, email you the security code for the box and be able to give a rough time of when I will be back to meet you. I supply a Glasgow map, a print out of my local guidebook and any advice about the city requested. I always stay in the flat on your first night and occasionally spend a night away if I am visiting friends, etc. but would discuss this with you before making plans. Check-in is 14:00 hours onwards and check-out by 11:00. If you would like to arrive before this time, please get in touch and I will see if it is possible. In any case, you can drop luggage off and collect keys earlier if it suits you. After check out, I am happy for you to leave your luggage for collection later in the day if that helps.
THE LOCAL AREA has a good mix of small independent shops and quality high street names. It is a foodies' heaven with two specialist cheese shops, butchers, vegetable and whole-food shops, numerous delicatessens and stores such as Waitrose and Marks and Spencer. There are also wonderfully atmospheric second hand book shops, vintage and retro clothing stores, gift shops, jewellers and of course plenty of coffee shops, restaurants and bars. There are a wide range of places to eat from great value budget to widely acclaimed, well established restaurants. Five of Trip Advisor’s top ten restaurants in Glasgow are within 15 minutes walk. Nearby Ashton Lane is great for visiting during the day and evening for shopping, coffee, eating, drinking and catching a film at the Grosvenor Cinema. Music and plays can be found at Oran Mor, Kelvinbridge and Cottiers theatres and various pubs also hold more informal music sessions. LOCAL ATTRACTIONS INCLUDE: the Botanic gardens with its lovely tea room terrace; Kelvingrove Park with great views from the top of the hill and Kelvingrove Museum and Art Gallery; Glasgow University and both its Hunterian Museum and Hunterian Art Gallery with its must see reconstruction of the Architect Charles Rennie Mackintosh's house; the Kelvin Hall International Sports Arena (I've only ever played table tennis there!) and the River Kelvin Walkway which runs along the river and joins up with the Forth and Clyde Canal and forms part of the Cycle Path Network. A LITTLE FURTHER AFIELD, about 25 minutes walk away, will take you down to the River Clyde. Along the waterfront there is plenty to do from visiting museums (Riverside Museum of Transport, Tall Ship Museum, Science Centre) to attending shows and exhibitions (Scottish Exhibition and Conference Centre, Clyde Auditorium, IMAX cinema) a tour around the BBC Scotland building or even a trip on the Waverley, the last seagoing paddle steamer in the world. In the direction of town you can visit the National Trust Tenement House, Charles Rennie Mackintosh's Glasgow School of Art and Willow Tea Rooms, as well as a range of art galleries, cinemas, theatres, clubs, music venues and world class shopping! THERE ARE EXCELLENT TRANSPORT LINKS with bus stops right outside (8-15 mins to city centre), Kelvinbridge underground station 5 minutes walk (6 mins to centre), 20-25 minutes walk into the city centre and a short drive to join the M8 motorway at Junction 17. Also Glasgow airport is only 20 mins away by taxi or about 40 mins by public transport. PARKING There is metered parking on the surrounding streets. FREE ON-STREET PARKING is available 5 minutes walk away on Queen Margaret Drive. It is also free to park on Great Western Road on Sundays and from 6:30pm to 7:00am daily. The parking meters on Hamilton Park Avenue only operate from 8:00am to 10:00pm, so it is free outwith these hours. PARKING METERS CHARGE 20p for the first 30 minutes then 20p per 10 minutes after that for a maximum of 3 hours. Alternatively, you can purchase visitor's parking permits from me when you arrive at cost price. They are £2.00 each and are available for three different time periods: Morning 8am-2pm Afternoon 12 noon-6pm Evening 4pm-10am JUST TO LET YOU KNOW, there are a couple of negatives which also have plus points. As I live near a main road in a great area with bars and restaurants nearby it can be noisy with traffic and revellers at night. This tends to be more so from Friday - Monday, students Freshers week in early September and when students finish their exams at the end of the summer term. Also, the flat is located on the second floor with two flights of stairs and no lift, but the extra light does make the interior brighter. The en-suite shower room is lovely but very small. There is a step to get into the shower and the opening between the doors is not very wide. Feel free to contact me if you have any questions.
  • Lucy is a very warm and welcoming Host. Her space is absolutely gorgeous - better than the images, but more because of the details Lucy took care of to truely make it "luxurious". It is in a great neighbourhood, one is spoilt for restaurant options and walks around the park etc, and easy to get to the city center too. Last but not the least, she made our seven year old feel special and very comfortable too and gets two thumbs up from her!

    vandini September 2015
  • This room was outstanding! Lucy really has an eye for every little detail that came make a guest feel most welcome. It felt like having a suite in a 5 star hotel! There is a Nespresso coffee machine in the room and anything one can possible fancy for breakfast in the room mini-fridge. Lucy is very welcoming and friendly. We will definitely book with her for our next visit in Glasgow!

    Marika September 2015
  • This was another return visit to Lucy's comfortable flat and the standard has got even higher. The new ensuite is a luxury and affords additional privacy, whilst the breakfast table and fridge leave one asking for nothing - every possible need has been thought about!

    Angela August 2015
  • Lucy's flat in Glasgow IS THE BEST! A beautiful, elegantly appointed and inviting space and more with your own table, fridge and breakfast options which Lucy generously provided. It's also in absolutely the best neighborhood in Glasgow. The west end is perfect. Ox & Finch, Pena cafe, Stravaigin, IJ Mille, Valhalla's goat, I could go on and on. Bottom line: we would stay here again for sure.

    Pepe November 2014
  • I had a delightful stay with Lucy when visiting Glasgow to see a play at the Oran Mor, which is just down the road. The room's airy, elegant and spotless, with a vast, comfortable bed. Lucy's a relaxed and welcoming host and even joined me for the play! I hope to return.

    Valerie March 2014
  • Lucy's place was even nicer than depicted in the photos. Spacious, beautifully decorated, light-filled, and homely. Lucy is a warm and welcoming host. We felt at home within our first hour of being there. The area is fantastic and we highly recommend the Stravaigin pub just around the corner near the park. Be sure to give a tickle or two for us to Jack the cat ;)

    Seb February 2014
  • Staying with Lucy at her wonderful flat and especially in our stylish, comfortable, big and bright room was such a pleasure! We enjoyed every single minute and had a really relaxing time. Even when the weather was not too bad, it was one of the best parts of the day to sit in Lucys kitchen with some tea and scones for the warming up and Jack the cat gave us a real feeling of being home. Every morning it was really hard to leave the snugly kingsized bed for the Highlands or Edingburgh. But on the other side the position and connection to public transport of the flat was that good we had to make use of it and so we benefited from the incredible nature of the Highlands or Citys like Edinburgh. All in all it was a perfect time for me and my sister and therefore we want to thank Lucy because she made our trip relaxing and haunting. We just can recommend everyone to stay with Lucy, you will have a great time! We really would like to meet Lucy, Jack and the flat again one day.

    Luise March 2014
  • One of the most lovely rooms I have ever had the pleasure of staying in. Lucy is an extremely welcoming and informative host - definitely knew where all the good food is, even the vegetarian spots!
