What you'll do

We will start our tour in at the „Budynok Ofitseriv“, and right away our tour will take you into the less known parts of Winnyzja. We will go have lunch at a place where you will not find an English menu to eat THE national dish of Ukraine: Varenyky. After this lunch we will go through residential areas and courtyards, while I‘ll give you insights into the everyday Ukranian life. Than we will arrive at the central market, where you can buy anything from fresh fruits to a toilet. After an authentic snack and drink, I will guide you through the different parts of the market and help you with anything you would like to buy. When we are finished we‘ll take the public transport for a short ride to our last stop: A place again with no English menu, where you can relax with a cup of tea or coffee enjoying an authentic Ukranian cake.

Are you interested in eating local food and exploring authentic parts of the city? Then we are going to have a great time. My name is Viktoriya, I have traveled and lived in many countries. I have always enjoyed giving tours in the cities I lived combined with local food delights. Though in the last years I have lived and guided visitors through Vienna, I would be more than pleased to introduce you to my home town: Winnyzja! Further, I can give you a deep insight into the Ukrainian culture and especially the food culture, as well as highlight the differences of the Western culture as I have lived abroad for more than half of my life.

Where you'll be

We will visit places that are not touristy. Cafes without an English menu; Courtyards you woudn‘t exidentally run into and the market where a tourist would get lost or cheated. Therefore, I am here to guide you through this experience.

Viktoriya was a very warm, interesting and passionate tour guide that was happy to answer all questions along the way. She showed us around Vinnyzia, her hometown, and had a lot to tell about the country's and especially the city's culture, architecture and daily life. The traditional food and drinks were interesting and delicious at the same time (she really seems to love food herself as well!). We started our tour punctually in front of the opera, had a nice walk around the city (and the market) and enjoyed some good conversations. Since she speaks Ukrainian, I was able to see and try things that otherwise would not have been possible. Make sure to come hungry as you will be stuffed - but happy - at the end!
