What you'll do

Cemeteries may be the last places you would like to visit on a holiday but with me you'll find this experience both exciting and rejuvenating.
Meeting at Mile End Tube station in the heart of East London we will explore a local Cemetey, its occupants and their history followed by an intense, fun GRAVE RUBBING SESSION.
Finally, if Covid-19 guidelines allow, we will indulge in a sumptuous East-ender afternoon tea.
Other things to note
Holy Trinity Bow cemetery is no longer used for burials, it is maintained by the local church or Friends of the cemetery so our grave rubbing workshops will in no way disrespect the needs of living families or loved ones.

I have lived in East London for over 35 years now and I love its ruggedness and its wonderfully diverse local people, their stories & their businesses. I'm the co-founder of London City Steps, a social enterprise based in Bow East London offering local guided walks and tours including a 4 Churches Tour ( a tour designed to give local residents the opportunity to see inside some of these iconic buildings). I promote rugged London, its heritage sites; especially it’s cemeteries, and its wonderfully diverse local people, their stories & their businesses.
