What you'll do
Tucked away in the southwest county of Devon, England, you’ll find Dartmoor National Park, a vast expanse of windswept, storied land home to a myriad of myths and millennia of human history. As we explore the region, we’ll encounter medieval villages, sprawling moors, and Bronze Age ruins, and learn of the legends rooted in each landscape. We’ll scamper among twisted trees and shaggy sheep, picnic like the Pagans beside rows of ritual stone columns, and duck into plenty of cozy pubs along the way—chatting with longtime locals and special guests to learn what makes this corner of the world so unique.
This trip is offered by Atlas Obscura. Once you've reserved your spot, our team will be in touch to help you prepare for the trip. Please note that flights and transfers to Totnes and from Exeter are not included in the trip cost.
This trip is limited to 10 travelers.

Paisley At Atlas Obscura
I'm your Atlas Obscura Trip Coordinator. Since 2016, Atlas Obscura has been offering unusual trips to the world’s most extraordinary places. Our itineraries are developed in close collaboration with the locals and insiders who host them—our global community of explorers, artists, researchers, and experts who grant us access to unique places and amazing experiences.
Keith Lambeth and Catherine Stanton will be leading your trip. Keith's knowledge of Dartmoor has been described as encyclopedic, but his eclectic interests stretch far further afield, ranging from mountain travel and living history reenactment to worm charming. Catherine is a Dartmoor rescue volunteer who has built a deep relationship with its landscape. She hosts overseas students, and introduces them to the region’s coasts, countryside, and moors.
