What you'll do
Take home your own souvenir of Bangor! Gift a piece of Bangor to a friend! Grab your friends and family and plan a painting party! Guests will be welcomed to the space with tables and chairs set up supplies all ready to go. Easels, pallettes, brushes and most importantly those expensive oil paints! No solvents will be used in the class as I'll teach a more eco-friendly way to clean your brushes between colors and the end of the day! Encouraged to paint on-site "Bangor" buildings downtown for a true "memorabilia" (but not limited to this subject matter) guests will be asked to photograph the surrounding area downtown and/or provide an image they'd like to work from via printed or on their phone. Step by step instructions and assistance to each student will be provided. I'll help guide which image I feel will be doable for you based on your past skills, which will provide a challenge and how to approach composition and perspective. I will also help with color theory and choosing the colors for the pallets if assistance is needed for a successful first time painting. Basic instructions will be shared through the class! 4 hours needed.
With over 20+ years of full time painting skills, Rebecca Krupke has a unique perspective on the world around her. Krupke will meet each person at their given skillset and walk them through the joy of oil painting in a non-toxic/non-solvent environment. Krupke has shown in over 30 international and national exhibitions around the world including Ireland and Italy. She's known in the area as the artist whose work evokes the feeling of Edward Hopper in her bright colors and Andrew Wyeth in her moody and haunting subject matter. Come learn oil painting under her tutelage. Also serving on Bangors Historical Board, Krupke has a vast love of documenting history. Everyone did art as a child...it wasn't until someone said "You're not good enough" whether yourself or someone else that you stopped painting. Come enjoy the joy of painting
