Born in the Netherlands to Italian parents I’ve always had a curiosity to analyse what makes Dutch history, identity & culture unique. With a degree in Urban Geography, and after working as a Geography teacher I decided to share my extensive knowledge of the city and its unique liberal culture with visitors and locals who want to learn more about Amsterdam in a fun way. In 2016 I started my own walking tour company offering a unique story-telling tour that combines sightseeing with history and cultural insights. Sebastian, Mike, Gianni, Joran, Marcella and the rest of my team of super local guides look forward not only to showing the most interesting places in Amsterdam but also to sharing their personal local knowledge with you and give you the best 2,5 hours you will spend in Amsterdam!

Where you'll be

Every guide and every tour are unique so this can vary, but after starting at the Stock exchange explore the oldest part of the city, the Old Harbour, Chinatown, Nieuwmarkt Square, The Jewish Quarter, Dam Square, The Royal Palace, ...and much more! Walking along the most beautiful canals we will also see and discuss the unique architecture of the canal houses and discover hidden places you would not easily find by yourself

Sergio is full of personality and is an entertaining host for a walking tour. You can tell he loves what he does and his city and truly enjoys sharing it with people. It was a great afternoon spent learning about Amsterdam. I highly recommend!

Was a helpful overview. Gianni was a knowledgeable local host. We stopped at many places and got a good overview. My only suggestion is more talking while walking between stopping spots.

Our guide was Jordan, he was really entertaining and knew so many facts and anecdotes about history and traditions of the city. We enjoyed the time spent around the streets and it helped us to get to know a little bit better what we find around us.

Sam, of Freedom Tours, hosted our walking tour. Sam is very knowledgeable, eloquent, even theatrical in certain presentations of his tour, and quite personal. Having taken a number of tours (historical or otherwise) during our trip of Europe, I would rate Sam's tour number one. Apart from his mastery of his subject matter, he also interjected personal experience in his presentation. And the level, tone and intonation of his voice contributed in catching our attention and interest. I will absolutely recommend Sam's tour to my friends and family.

The tour was customized to what the group appeared interested in. The guide, Sam, was very knowledgeable, funny, friendly and a great story teller. He actually moved many of the people in the group to tears in parts of the tour. I went there not expecting much & left super satisfied. I’ve already recommended him to friends that are visiting next month. Definitely a great starting point to a trip to Amsterdam. After the tour he had many great recommendations to pursue just about any interest.
