What you'll do

Please check current lockdown regs. I'll be leading my Guided Bike Tour guests on a route I’ve devised myself. We’ll pass several interesting places to visit a tiny old Welsh church, now marooned on the Anglesey coastline. We'll also travel through time, as I share stories covering a thousand years of the history of the places we see, & how they've changed or persisted over time.
Having enjoyed a great day spotting wildlife & enjoying land and seascapes, guests will leave with a better idea of the environment and how communities have lived here over the centuries.
I have selected off-road and quiet roads for this tour & the cycling is easy and non-technical.
We will start with a briefing and bike check to make sure that everyone is happy and comfortable on their bikes. We set a relaxed speed and take frequent stops to enjoy our surroundings.
We cycle through Wales’ largest lowland wetland, which is rapidly attracting some of the UK’s rarest bird species, such as the bittern. We cycle through one of Anglesey’s oldest landed estates, across an old packhorse bridge to the site of the main court of the Princes of Gwynedd, before heading to the coast to visit the ancient church which was once on the shore. We return via a different inland route, and an opportunity to ‘refuel’ at a popular cyclists Café, with its excellent home cooking.
My main aim is to provide a relaxed memorabl

I am passionate about both cycling and Welsh history. A native Welsh speaker, with a degree in History and Welsh History I love to share the fascinating tales behind Anglesey’s history.

I am a British Cycling Ride Leader and volunteer to lead rides to encourage women's cycling.

I have cycled almost all the 1000 miles of road on the rural island of Anglesey, so I can lead you on a leisurely cycle ride along quiet rural lanes and cycle tracks to discover the island’s hidden past.

I will ensure that you get a sense of achievement from completing a cycle ride while getting to know more about the Isle of Anglesey.

Where you'll be

We cross one of Wales’ largest lowland wetlands, a magnet for birds and mammals, to cycle country lanes across dunes to Aberffraw, where Welsh Princes once had their Court. On then, to the rugged coastline, to visit St Cwyfan church. Once part of the mainland, this iconic church has become marooned by the sea.
We take a different route inland, giving fantastic views of Snowdonia, and call in at a café serving home cooked food on our return.
