Enjoy Cream Tea On A Cute Dutch Barge

Greater London, United Kingdom

Experience hosted by Tere

  1. 2 hours
  2. Hosted in English and Spanish

What you'll do

We live next to the amazing Canary Wharf in Zone 2 on a Cute Dutch Barge 54 Feet in length, she is a homely Barge with bundles of character

The Barge, is our home full of period charm located in a special neighbourhood near the river Thames and canals with lots of local wildlife, in fact some of our neighbours are swans and ducks!

We will meet you at Canary Wharf Tube station (very easy to get to from central London on the Jubilee Line). From there we will take the scenic route to our home, around 10 mins walk, showing you the important sites.

On arrival we will show you around the neighbourhood and views of the river and canals

We will then welcome you onto Lydia and tell you all about our life here and what fun it is to live by the water and what is special about this part of East London

Coronavirus update - our marina is a VERY safe gated community and surrounded by water. We can offer the cream tea on the lovely pontoon in the fresh air surrounded by our cottage garden

We will then offer you some delicious food, we are huge foodies and always eat fresh home cooked food.

One of the typical British foods is traditional Afternoon Tea, so we will offer you a selection of scones, thick British cream and jam, a slice of homemade cake and either tea or coffee, all served on British vintage crockery!

I am also a huge foodie and regularly host dinner parties. We are passionate about our community in East London and live an amazing life close to the incredible metropolis of Canary Wharf.

Tere & Colin gave us a unique, magical & truly delightful experience. Tere's love of cooking showed in an afternoon tea that was adorably presented and gave us a feast on home-made everything. Colin had met us, to direct us personally to his amazing home, affording us a mini-tour of the area en route, which was enlightening and particularly recommended for people unfamiliar to that part of London. Their marina-set home was truly surprising. It was beyond interesting to see their way of life and gave us an unforgettable experience. This was no ordinary cream tea! If you want to go home thoroughly delighted to have met two exceptional, happy & artistic people who will charm you, inspire you & make you feel as welcomed as family, then you have to treat yourself to this experience!

Oh! It’s really excellent experience ~ so I gave 5 star in every standards!!!The hoster share her own boat with me, I realized more local boat life except the super delicious cream tea and studied how to eat traditional English breakfast tea. Eventhough the experience wrote just 2 hours, I stayed 3 hours more, hoster never mean about the time and money, she Are super passion and friendly !! I really recommend it! And I will go back to try fish&chip in the boat ~ ( tere&colin have a super beautiful cat in the boat~)

We had a special experience on the fantastic barge "Lydia". Tere was an absolutely wonderful host who so generously showed us her super nice home and "garden" and offered a delicious afternoon tea. We highly recommend everyone to visit Tere, Colin and the beautiful cat Tippi. Beats all previously visited places for afternoon tea! Mats & Christina
