There is wonderful countryside on the doorstep and interesting places to see. The guided walk I offer is 16kms, 10miles, mostly off road on tracks and through fields. What else you should know

The walk is 16 kilometres long and over rough terrain, with some steep steps and slopes to negotiate as well as stiles and fences to climb over, so a moderate level of fitness and agility is required to complete and enjoy the experience.

What to bring

Backpack with food and drink for 5 hours.
Suitable stout footwear for off road hiking that includes boggy fields and muddy tracks.s
Appropriate clothing for weather conditions with extra layers, hat and gloves in colder weather.
Camera, the scenery is awesome.

Where you'll be

A circular walk will start in Gorebridge and follow tracks to Vogrie Country Park, Crichton Castle and the village of Borthwick before heading back to Gorebridge. Crichton Castle is managed by Historic Scotland and there is a fee to enter the property. We will walk around the building. Borthwick Castle is now a private hotel.
