Julia Amaya Espíndola García is a veterinarian, member of La Gatoteca, and expert on cats and their behavior. Originally from Argentina, she spent time studying in the U.S. before having the pleasure of settling in Spain. Julia is passionate about this incredible animal, living with two cats of her own and working with all who inhabit La Gatoteca. Not only does she care for the cats’ physical health, but for their emotional and behavioral wellbeing as well. Always learning, she hopes to decipher the mysteries of the cat world and instill in people the values of animal care and awareness. Outside the world of felines, Julia loves music. She sings, plays the guitar and ukulele, and is now learning piano. As they say, cats and art go hand in hand…

An absolute must for any cat lovers visiting Madrid!! Julia and all the staff at La Gatoteca were so welcoming and very helpful with answering any questions about the cats. They are all doing an amazing job at looking after and rehoming the cats, creating the perfect environment for these beautiful animals. I'd definitely recommend a visit and will return when I'm next in Madrid to check in on the cats and support a fantastic charity. Thank you Julia and the team at La Gatoteca. I'll be back for you Newton!! 🐈❤️

Being able to spend time with cats in Madrid is the magical combination of two of my passions. Creating an Airbnb experience at La Gatoteca was truly inspired. Even before my trip, Dr. Julia asked if I had questions or topics I wanted her to address - and during the presentation part of the experience she gave me some good information about my cat’s cancer. For me, this was Madrid’s best kept secret - but it shouldn’t be a secret!

Una formación bastante completa sobre iniciación en el mundo de los gatos y después un tiempo bastante curioso, pasando tiempo entre todos los gatetes que están cuidando y ayudando. Una grata experiencia.
