I'm a qualified Mountain Leader living in Gerlan, Bethesda, North Wales. I have great local knowledge of the area and the surrounding mountains of Snowdonia. I've spent the last few yeas perfecting my the craft of hill / mountain walking, navigation and learning about the area. I've experience in taking out groups and individuals up into the mountains, this sometimes involves low level guided walks, the Wales 3000 challenge and scrambling. Living in Snowdonia gives me the perfect opportunity to guide others around this amazing landscape.

Highly recommend booking this activity: From start to finish, Huw’s unique hiking trip was thoroughly enjoyable. Huw was very friendly and easy to converse with but more importantly, we did the hike at our pace - Huw was no drill sergeant. Being from London, mountain hiking is like learning a new language, however, I would totally do this again. It was such fun and we’re blessed with superb weather. 10/10.

It was fantastic to climb Snowdon with Huw. He is an experienced guide and very good person. It amazed us how much he cares for Welsh mountains, language and culture. He was very attentive to me when I had my vertigo panic and Very calmly helped me through the challenging point in the climb. His knowledge of the various routes was outstanding. We would strongly recommend him if you want to make your Snowdonia experience more enjoyable. N&N Smillie

I had a fantastic day out walking on the Glyderau with Huw. We didn’t have the best weather that day, but luckily Huw was an excellent navigator and clearly knew his way round the mountains even in poor visibility. When the clouds did rise we were treated to some excellent views down the Ogwen valley and the dramatic peaks of of Glyder Fawr, Glyder Fach and Castell y Gwynt. Some parts of the walk were more challenging than others, but Huw made sure everyone was happy with the pace, and I really enjoyed the experience. It makes a huge difference to go on a trip like this with a local guide, because as well as leading the way and making sure we were safe, Huw was able to educate us about everything from local history and place names, to myths and legends – and most importantly, essential local info like the best pub to have a pint afterwards! Huw is passionate and knowledgeable about his area and the mountains, and I would highly recommend a trip with him in this stunning area of Wales.
