What you'll do

DON'T BE A TOURIST, BE AN EXPERT FOODIE EXPLORIST

We see you chocoholics and we created a tour just for you. Victoria is a mecca for talented chocolatiers and turns out we also have some gorgeous places of worship. So let's get biblical and indulge in some sinful chocolate while venturing inside some of the most historic churches in the city.

ON THE MENU: an assortment of chocolates from two iconic chocolate shops (Rogers' Chocolates and Bernard Callebaut), chocolate infused French macarons, a unique savory taco with a house-made mole sauce, and a rich, thick, drinking chocolate from a chocolate shop that has been in business for over 30 years.

Make new friends, meet local business owners, hear stories about history, get amazing insider tips about where to eat next, and avoid tourist trap eateries with the help of a local guide.

Hi! We are a group of locals that own and operate an awesome food tour company called Off The Eaten Track. We LOVE showing off beautiful Victoria and exploring our local culinary scene.

We have been running food tours for the past 5 years and we know all the best places to get a great meal. Bonnie loves pizza a little too much and has worked as a tour guide for over 15 years. Brenda has a weird addiction to historic salacious stories and has been in the hospitality industry for over 20 years Jason is an actor (a successful one at that) and also leads haunted ghost tours in the city so he knows all the best haunted sights. We are excited to meet you, show you are favorite places, and laugh over a good meal.

Where you'll be

We start the tour at the Visitor Information Centre then stroll down historic & bustling Government Street. Here we will stop at 3 chocolate locations while learning about the early history of Victoria among old historic buildings. We then visit 3 places of worship including St. Andrew's Presbyterian Church, Christ Church Cathedral and St. Andrew's Cathedral. We will also tour one of the oldest cemeteries in Western Canada.

Brenda is a wonderful guide. She was a great historian and made sure to create a tour that was fun and educational. She was an excellent speaker and made you feel like you were hanging out with a new friend. The chocolate was excellent and it was fun to get to choose your own during a few of the stops. I’d highly recommend this tour.

We thoroughly enjoyed this tour. There was a good balance of eating amazing chocolate dishes and history. The church tours were so informative. Bonnie was so knowledgeable about the history of Victoria that she was able to answer the many questions we had about other areas of the city, too. The chocolate experience was equally informative - and delicious!
