What you'll do

After boarding the lovely Sianga at Capestang, we will cruise downstream past the stunning scenery of the UNESCO World Heritage site that is the Canal du Midi. I just host your group so the boat is all yours. We will pass through Poilhes, and on through the famous Malpas Tunnel. The Canal is one of the oldest still in operation in Europe, and I will talk about the awesome history. We then cruise through the town of Colombiers with a very low bridge to negotiate! There are comfortable chairs at the front of Sianga where you can relax, sunbath or just soak in the wonderful ambiance. After some snacks we arrive at the 9 Fonserannes Locks where you can disembark to watch the boats negotiating these famous locks. It can be quite amusing...We return upstream while you enjoy a delicious 3 course homemade lunch chosen from a small menu the day before, with drinks of your choice. You will leave feeling fully relaxed, in awe of this amazing piece of history and with new friends (I hope!).

Where you'll be

You will spend the tour aboard Sianga, a beautiful cabin cruiser with very comfortable chairs and 2 proper toilets. There are large cushions for really relaxing or sunbathing. The canal is very calm so no problem with seasickness. We stop at the Fonserannes Locks to stretch legs and watch the other boats, plus marvel at the engineering feat to create such amazing structures in the 17th Century.
