What you'll do

When guests arrive you will learn basic Hawaiian language relative to lei making. I will provide a fresh sourced, cut & prepared pua (flowers) & greenery including all materials needed to make a leipo’o.

We will measure and size it to your head to make sure it fits well. I will then guide you step by step in making your very own leipo’o. Each guest will make 1 lei customized to their head.

When finished making your leipo’o, you will be ready to show off and wear it around for the remainder of your vacation and to wherever home is for you. One lei can last up to 1 week. I will also teach how to care for it!

I will also be happy to and do my best to take some photos of you with your own camera or camera phones (iPhone and/or android).

Aloha!
I am a Native Hawaiian girl, born and raised on these beautiful Hawaiian islands! I have over 30 years of professional hula dancing experience in Waikiki, hula competition, throughout Hawai’i & around the world. I grew up making fresh lei, skirts & all other adornments necessary to perform.
I have formal Hawaiian language education & fluency. I’m happy to share these traditions with my Keiki (children) and you!

I will share my aloha, passion & respect for my Hawaiian culture & the honua (land, earth, world) through the cultural practice of leipo’o (flower crown) making using the style of wili (to wrap or entwine). You can see some of my work on my IG @honualiving.

I also host AirBnb Experience:
WEAVE A HAWAIIAN COCONUT HAT!

*Please contact me if the place and time doesn’t work for you or for custom orders!

Where you'll be

We will meet at a beautiful beach on the North Shore of O'ahu, Kokololio Beach Park on the Northern most end of the parking lot where I will lead you our lei making spot. We will make leipo’o at a picnic table right next to the beach. You will be amazed with the view. Depending on the weather, I will contact you the morning of and you will follow me, by car, to our indoor location (just 1 mile from our meeting place).
