What you'll do

Joshua Tree National Park boasts a unique character of desert plains and giant boulders, rugged mountains and twisted, spiky Joshua trees, for which the park is named. The large range of rock shapes and sizes make the park one of the leading rock climbing meccas in North America.

Resting in the southeast of California, at the meeting point of the Mojave and Colorado deserts, the national park is approximately two and a half hours away from Los Angeles, and under an hour from Palm Springs.

This trip is designed for intermediate rock climbers with a good level of fitness who are searching for a fresh challenge with high rewards. The dramatic scenery provides a breathtaking background for top quality rock climbing.

Once we’re in the park and at the spot I’ll brief you on the route before we begin the climb. You’ll quickly rise from the desert floor and gradually ascend to find outstanding panoramic views.

While in the park I like to throw in little bits of information about the wildlife, geology, and cultural history of the area as there are fascinating stories behind so much of what we’ll see.

At the midway point I’ll lead you to a cool and scenic spot that is great for a picnic. We can relax and refuel before getting our hands on the rocks again.

If you are in a group of 3 or more then get in touch to hear about an interesting discount.
