What you'll do

We will meet in the heart of downtown Vancouver and will travel in style in my fully electrical Tesla model X. We will start our tour by visiting the Richmond Nature Park where we would be able to see some species of the local BC birds and animals in their natural habitat. Humming birds, Woodpeckers, Douglas Squirrels, Goldfinch, Red Eared Slider Turtles to name a few. We would also be able to see an active bee hive and watch the bees at work! Then we will visit the historic Steveston Village and explore the fisherman's market where local fishermen sell their freshest catch right off the boat! Salmon, stingray, shrimp, sea urchin and more. Then we will visit a Fish Cannery Museum which is now a National Historic Site. The cannery was built in 1894 and operated until 1979. In 1984 the building was officially given to Parks of Canada and became a museum. You will immerse in the facinating history of West Coast fishing industry! We will watch a short film about the cannery prior to the museum tour. After that we'll visit another historic site - a carefully preserved fishermen village. We will see how the fishermen, mostly Chinese immigrants used to live while working extremely hard in order to provide for their families. You will 2 hours of free time to explore the village and visit the gift shops. I encourage you to try local seafood at many Steveston restaurants to choose from.
