What you'll do

I’ll pick you up from the local train station (Etchingham) which is only an one hour journey from central locations in London such as London Bridge, Charing Cross and Waterloo East. From the train station we’ll do a half mile walk up a lovely country lane where we’ll enter the Burgh Hill woods, an area of outstanding natural beauty in the heart of the British countryside.

From there we’ll walk for around an hour or so in the woods, where in the spring you’ll be able to see beautiful bluebells while in the autumn you’ll get to appreciate the beautiful colours of the falling leaves.

After this it’s a brief walk back to the train station where you’ll either have the option to grab a quick brownie and tea from the cafe, or to take the train back to london at your leisure.
Other things to note
Unfortunately i can’t always promise you that the waterfall will be fully flowing when you visit. It’s supplied by local streams and therefore is entirely dependent on the weather, so if it’s been dry there may be little to no water. It’s still a lovely walk and I hope you enjoy the nature :)

I’m offering the opportunity to show travellers one of the most beautiful sites in my local village, a place i have lived in since I was born. The trip itself is a hour long walk to a secret waterfall that lives in the middle of the Burgh Woods, and the walk is only know to a few locals in the village.

It’s really important for me to keep this beautiful location safe, as it’s somewhere i played and explored as a child, and therefore everyone on this trip would have to be mindful of their impact to the local area and be considerate (not drop rubbish etc..)

Overall i’m offering the opportunity to see a beautiful part of the british countryside in an area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.

Where you'll be

From the train station you will walk through an area of outstanding natural beauty in the heart of the East Sussex countryside. You’ll then walk through a protected woodland which is home to many local wildlife (wild deer, rabbits, foxes and even the odd Wild Boar) and then you’ll get to visit the lovely Waterfall. The Waterfall is nestled deep in the woods and is at the end of a valley that Romans once used to extract Iron.
