About your host

I've been a paddler for over 30 years and have traveled to many places for different paddle sports. Among all the paddling disciplines, surfski is something I love the most, as it is the ultimate compilation of various elements. I have served as a certified surf lifeguard and I'm also a former national surfski champ. I'm excited that I can now share the nature and history of Kamakura on a surfski.

What we’ll do

You'll get to experience surfski—a rapidly growing new paddle sport. Surfski requires body control and balance, with a few yoga-like physical elements. You'll need to focus on all parts of your body. Don't worry if you're a first-time paddler. I have the right method for you to become fine tuned at paddling, which will also open up new possibilities for staying fit and maybe becoming more…

What else you should know

Bring sunscreen, sunglasses, and a cap. Wear sports clothing as you will likely get wet and sweaty. Bring a towel and change of clothes. Don't forget your smartphone.

What I’ll provide

Snacks and Other
Lunch Box(surfer lunch). Beverage and power snacks I'll provide a local lunch box known as the "Surfer Bento"—the standard for Kamakura locals.. I'll want you to be well-powered and hydrated during our paddle session.
Equipment
Surfski equipment I'll provide a surfski, paddle, personal flotation device, and waterproof phone bag. Paddle-wear will depend on the weather.

What to bring

Sporting Wear(surf wear or running wear)
Sunscreen, Sunglasses, Cap
Towel
Change Clothes
Mobile Phone(and waterproof bag)

Where you'll be

My home beach is Zaimokuza in Kamakura. Kamakura is a historical tourist destination and a cradle of many modern ocean sports like surfing, board sailing, lifeguarding, and surfski. Kamakura is conveniently located southwest of Tokyo, accessible via a one-hour direct train ride from Central Tokyo.
