What a great experience, and with only a few days notice, Garry managed to squeeze us in and organise it all!! His knowledge of Skye is extensive and was really appreciated, especially by my sister who loves to know about the history of any place. It all felt pretty amazing, and nothing to beat a three course dinner next to a loch under the full moon - which was the icing on the cake for us! It became clear, as the trip went on, Garry has made some strong connections to the people and the land which made it all the more special for us. It was great to meet Yasmin, meet the animals and learn about the yarn making, a fab process, and was nice to be treated so warmly wherever we went! We are looking forward to see how the future trips develop, and hope we can do another one some day, maybe for much longer!

We had an amazing time with Wolfie, Garry and all the local people we met along the way. The tent was sooo comfortable and warm (even in November!) and the journey was such a breeze. We also especially enjoyed getting up close with the animals on the croft, and even some wild deer! All of the food was really amazing, from dinner under the stars, to eating with a local family, and even oysters and champagne after a short hike! Thankyou so much Garry, we look forward to coming back for a longer trip next time!

This trip with Wolfie Adventures far exceeded our expectations. Our host Garry had thought of everything and couldn’t do enough to ensure that we had an amazing time. We were picked up from our Edinburgh accommodation Monday morning and were soon on our way in the impressive Jeep Wrangler heading to Glencoe. We enjoyed the conversation along the way which was relaxed and informative whilst getting to know Garry. To describe the whole itinerary would take an essay, since with so many highlights it’s hard to know where to start and finish. Throughout we dined in lovely hotels and pubs, often with great views. There were stop-offs at notable and photogenic places such as the Harry Potter (Glenfinnan) viaduct, Eilean Donan castle, Silgachan Bridge on Skye amongst many more. Our first night was magical. Garry had found a remarkable excluded spot overlooking Loch Morar where he set up camp with the Jeep shielding us from the wind. Whilst my wife and I were able to freshen up with a shower in a nearby pod Garry had lit the fire and got the barbecue going. As we walked back to the jeep, we found a table was set beneath the awning with fairy lights. The steak was amazing (my wife Liz says it was the most amazing meal she had ever had) with asparagus and potatoes. And then the climb into the very comfortable bed above the jeep. We slept soundly and woke to wonderful views across the loch. Although we spent a fair while travelling in the Jeep it was never excessive and there was always something new to look forward to. The short ferry crossing to Skye was choppy but lasted only about 45 minutes. Garry led us on a fantastic walk up the Fairy Pools and then to oysters and champagne overlooking Talisker bay. The second night was spent in a lovely warm pod at Uig on Skye and followed by another day exploring the island and then an enjoyable journey home with further stops-offs along the way. We ate very well and were able to enjoy whatever drinks we wished. Garry was the perfect host and guide. Yes, it is a fairly ‘physical’ short break requiring a short climb up the ladder to get into the jeep bed and there are some relatively short but slightly strenuous walks. The weather was not great but didn’t spoil our enjoyment at all. It may seem pricey but once on the trip there is no need to spend any money at all. We are in our 60s and coped with it all very well, however it does require a certain adaptability and willingness to just get on with it. We had a fantastic time and agree that Garry’s concept of ‘wild and comfy’ perfectly fits the Wolfie USP.
