What you'll do

Urban birding. Do you want to experience the city in a different way? Why not go birdwatching with a local birdwatcher?

Yes, it is possible to watch birds in the City of Copenhagen!

You don’t have to be an experienced birdwatcher, maybe you are new to birdwatching or you just enjoy being out in nature and want to learn more. Maybe you are a birdwatcher visiting Copenhagen for a business meeting. Why not take a break and relax with some urban birdwatching.

Join me for a 1-hour* birdwatching tour in Copenhagen, where we will look for birds in city. In this tour we will walk and look for birds in a part of Christianshavns Vold and Stadsgraven. (* depending on birds/weather it can be extended with up to 30 minutes).

Depending on your experience in birdwatching, I will show you and identify the different birds that will be around and tell you more about them.

We expect to see Mute Swans - the Danish National Bird. You probably know it from the famous H.C. Andersen tail “The ugly duckling”. We will see different kinds of waterbirds like herons, ducks, coots, geese, and cormorants. In the scrubs and trees, we can find passerines (eg. trushes, tits and robins).
If we are lucky, we might see a Peregrine Falcon!

We will make stops during the walk making time to watch and enjoy the birds – and even try take pictures of them if you bring a camera.
