What you'll do

My hometown of Teotihuacan, located about an hour from the heart of Mexico City, was named The Home of the Gods by the Aztecs when they found them. Starting in the Palace of Quetzalpapalotl, you will be swept away to a different time! Ascending to the heavens, you will experience the Sun piramide, Moon piramide, la calzada de los muertos, and the Palace of the Feathering Serpent. We’ll show you the archeological site museum and local artists at work. And now that you have worked up an appetite, it’s time for an authentic traditional Mexican feast. Historically lunch is the most important meal of the day, usually taken between 12 and 1 where there will be warm hand made tortillas made the same way people of the area have had them for centuries. La Abuela de Teotihuacan will personally invite you into her home where Grandmother has prepared beloved foods for all peoples more than twenty years.

I had such a great time. Jose is very knowable and friendly. He took us to cool local places like a restaurant in a cave. Everybody was very helpful and kind. It is worth getting to know these people, their culture and community.

He helped us to maintain ourselves isolated from others, we got to the pyramids early and had the chance to not interact with many people. He also guided us to a more isolated space to photograph nice views of the area. We had a safe and clean trip, Eduardo is a great guide and accommodated all our wants and concerns.

Jose Eduardo provided a well-paced, comprehensive and anecdotal-rich introduction to one of the world's more enduring, impressive and mysterious archaeological sites. His informative trek concluded with a marvelous and highly personal meal at a restaurant free of the heavy-handed commercialism common in tourist districts. Be aware that Teotihuacan is high, hot and sunny, and that the tour can be exhausting. Bring plenty of water and sunblock and wear comfortable and sturdy footwear.
