What you'll do

You have picked a great time to visit Boston!

Boston is one of the most walkable cities in America - it’s lovely to explore on foot. We’ll be walking about 3,000 steps/1 mile.

We will meet at a coffee shop along the Freedom Trail. Feel free to buy something there while we get acquainted & start our exploration of the people & events of the founding of Boston & the early years of the American Revolution.

We will head out on foot to walk a portion of the Freedom Trail. You will see & learn about the Old State House & the Boston Massacre, the Old Corner Bookstore & the Irish Famine Memorial & the Old South Meeting House - where the Tea Party started. Next, we head up School Street to learn about the Old City Hall & visit the site of the first public school in America. We’ll step into the oldest continuously run hotel in America & explore the rich history of this beautiful hotel.

Onto King’s Chapel Church & the oldest burial ground in Boston.

We will see the brutalist masterpiece- New City Hall & conclude at the Faneuil Hall/Quincy Market area.

You might want to shop or get a drink or meal at one of the many restaurants & bars at the end of the tour.

I will share recommendations for things to do & places to eat.

Join me to explore Boston & the Freedom Trail.

Boston is a beautiful city - rich in history & stories that I want to share with you!

This was a fantastic tour of the freedom trail. Ellen was friendly, well-versed in American History, and a wonderful story teller. I have heard horror stories about tours, but this tour went above and beyond my expectations. It did not disappoint even during Covid when most of the sites were closed. I HIGHLY recommend it! Thanks, Ellen!

I recommend this Freedom Trail tour for anyone new to Boston. Upon meeting Ellen, it was evident how passionate she was about the city of Boston and it’s history. I learned some interesting historical facts I wouldn’t have known otherwise and having a guide is just so much better for this kind of experience.

This was the best tour I’ve been on. It is a must in Boston! My son (age 11) and I did the tour. Ellen kept our attention and made the city come to life. Her passion made it easy to visualize the events actually happening. She was great with my son no easy task (we just got off a red eye flight) He was fully engaged in all the detail and questions Ellen had for us. Can’t say enough! Book this tour or you will miss out on a great education and knowledge you won’t get anywhere else! She has so much hidden knowledge we loved it!

Ellen’s tour was excellent! It is obvious that she has spent many hours researching her subject material and has a real love for educating. Walking the Freedom Trail was a fantastic experience for both parents, my 12 year old son, and our four legged companion. We highly recommend experiencing the tour with Ellen!
