What you'll do

Explore Molokini on an intimate small-group adventure at Maui's #1 snorkeling destination. With only 10 Airbnb guests maximum (new Covid-19 restrictions) on Ocean Explorer, a 54 ft. single deck catamaran with open air seating and unimpeded views, you'll have plenty of room to move around, enjoy the views and interact with our certified Marine Naturalists.

We'll start the morning by enjoying breakfast in the Pacific Whale Foundation classroom where we can get the know each other and the crew. We will then head over to Ma'alaea Harbor where we will depart and cruise over to Molokini. Along the way, we'll look for wild dolphins off the south coast of Maui. We will then recharge by enjoying a delicious lunch on the boat!

Then for the main event, we'll find a secluded area at the reefs end of Molokini, away from all the other boats. Snorkel the iconic volcanic crater and its beautiful reef known for crystal clear waters, abundant coral, colorful, and resting seabirds. A flexible itinerary includes visiting a second snorkel spot, such as Turtle Arches, as well as cruising along Maui's coastline.

Hosted by the Foundation's certified Marine Naturalists, you'll gain a unique perspective of Maui's gorgeous waters!

You cannot go wrong taking a chance on the Molokini Wild Side Eco Adventure. Captain Callan and her crew were knowledgeable and personable, and guided me on one of the coolest wildlife experiences of my life. The Pacific Whale Foundation folks are doing amazing work, and I felt lucky to be a part of it while having this wonderful experience. We saw sea turtles galore, more humpback whales than you can shake a stick at, feeding manta rays, and even a couple of bottlenose dolphins, which are rare around Maui at the time of year I visited (March). To top it all off, the crew served us a very tasty lunch at the end of our snorkeling trip, which was a welcome treat after all that swimming around. Can't say enogu good things - I only wish I'd had six more hours in the water!

This experience was absolutely amazing and well worth the cost. The captain and crew were friendly and knowledgeable, we had a small group, perfect weather, clear water, delicious food. I couldn't imagine anything better. If we ever make it back to Maui we will be without a doubt doing this again.

The BEST decision I made on my trip to Hawaii was this excision. Felt unique and special. Our boat had less than 20 people and we felt they really cared about us. I did some Luau’s on Maui that were very underwhelming that felt like total cash grabs but this was opposite of that. The crew was thoughtful and knowledgeable. And the proceeds go to an extremely important cause which was a big bonus.
