What you'll do

We'll be tasting whiskies from award-winning neighbouring Glen Ord, the only remaining single malt scotch whisky distillery on the Black Isle.
Along with some classic whiskies, you will have the rare opportunity to try malts that are unavailable outside the Far East. I will give you an overview of Glen Ord, of the distilling process and guide you through the tasting noes for each whisky. Novices, the curious and aficionados all welcome for this fun and informative event!
Other things to note
If you would like to make an evening of it, why not book a table in our restaurant before the tasting? The restaurant is open from 6pm and offers a wide range of delicious locally-sourced options.

American by birth, Scottish by choice, I have bought, sold, judged and written about whisky for over 30 years. A judge for the prestigious World Whisky Awards for the past 9 years, my recent publication credits include Scots Heritage Magazine. Whisky is in my blood, so to speak.

Since 2003 I have been running The Anderson restaurant and hotel in Fortrose and have one of the best collection of single malts in the Highlands. We like to offer unexpected whisky flights and pairings to challenge perceptions and introduce people to spirits that they might not otherwise try. Our memorable whisky tastings are always engaging, informative and very, very fun.

Really enjoyed the particular whiskies chosen for this tasting, very distinctive and delicious. The area, Fortrose is a lovely Scottish village, and the tasting is in a pretty, quaint and quirky little pub and Inn, that on its own is a destination to experience. Jim has excellent knowledge of Scotch Whisky, and beyond; yet conveys it with no ego and is open to all manner of questions. Will definitely do this adventure again if the opportunity presents itself.
