What dou you imagine abour Tokyo? Harajuku pop culture, neon lights in Shinjuku, or historical japanese temple such as Sensouji? There are various scienery in Tokyo and this is an interesting point of Tokyo!
However, the hidden town is remained here. I guide you Nishiogi. This town has local atmosphere and be calm and a litte fantasic.
I live around Nishiogi and went to school in this town, so I grew with Nishiogi. Furthermore, I like japanese comics drawn in 1970s~1990s. In Nishiogi, there are many old books store, so I walk around nishiogi day after day and being looking for old comics. Many Nishiogi shops don't have SNS accounts or web sites, so it may be difficult to look for favorite shops whithin limited hours if you go to Nishiogi for the first time. I can introduce you various unique shops in Nishiogi.

This tour was really great. Honoka knows a lot about the place and her English is also good. If you like art, comics and want to know more about this beautiful place then I recommend this tour.

Seeing her get a feel for the tour early in, it was apparent that Honoka was new at this. And yet, without a shadow of a doubt, it was obvious how much she cared for her guest's experience. With it being the very last day of the year, a lot of shops were closed. With Honoka having kept in regular contact with her messaging beforehand, I was prepared for this - with her messages including added suggestions on how she could make this tour the very best it could be. Thoroughly accommodating, Honoka had plenty of places to take me, personalizing the tour, showcasing a cherished, more personal, hidden beauty of a city - the sort of experience that speaks to someone, illustrating the intimate aspects of life that paints us as we grow up, and sees us embrace the curiosities that define who it is we really are. From a historic French bakery with delicious pastries and a fascinating postwar past to a mountain-lodge style "tea room" with its embracingly warm atmosphere, memorable decor, and great coffee and sides to snack on. And everything in between - the way Honoka adjusted the tour, thoughtfully re-routing on the fly, curious if i cared for something to eat or drink by the way I was caught up by the smell of yakitori, or how a vibrantly lit milk tea shop caught my eye, and every other attentive way she read the things that drew me in, and specialized the tour as such with just enough local shops in Nishiogi left open to appreciate. And perfectly suited for the shopping left to do before my flight, she invited me into a local stationary shop, and helped me spot just the right things to bring home. Never once did I feel rushed. What's obvious is that there is so much of this city left to see, but maybe less obvious is how much of what's right in front of us we miss. As much as Nishiogi is a part of Tokyo, it's so much a neighborhood of its own, with tales of history and a cultural identity that is brilliantly represented by Honoka's desire to share its story with anyone who would hear it. With so much left to explore, it has me wishing Japan wasn't a land so far off in the horizon. And yet, I suppose it's exactly the way it needs to be - having inspired Honoka and her tour of Nishiogi to be as special as they are.
