I love to host and entertain. I have had home-made Thai, Filipino, Chinese, Italian, Persian, Ethiopian and Indian. I have traveled to Mexico, Europe, Caribbean and Africa. Each time I sought out “good food.” I dined at Restaurant Gordon Ramsay in London. 7 courses later I was satisfied and full, wondering with one ravioli in one of the courses, how? I dined at La Colombe in South Africa in 2015 – divine! I lived in Jamaica for 17 years enjoying fresh, tasty cuisine and dancing competitive reggae, calypso, hip hop and Kumina music. My palate is complicated. I had to learn to cook food that satisfies it and I am ready to share. I've been making delicious Jamaican dishes for over 15 years.

I honestly don’t know where to start. This experience was amazing. I booked a while in advance for Valentine’s weekend for my boyfriend and before booking I reached out with questions about group size and what we would make because I’m a little on the picky side sometimes. She was super responsive and even let me pick between dishes for being the first to book on that date! It ended up being just us that booked that date so it was pretty intimate for us which was great. I think I saw there is the option to pay to have just your group members only but double check. Her home was adorable. Clean, very new and modern. Very easy to find and enter. She has a one of a kind dog named Curry who has a great hair cut and color! The listing did mention this and you have the option to have her board the dog but we didn’t see the need and he was very well behaved. Laid in the background most of the night. We really felt at home and like we’d been friends for a while. Her personality was just so likable both of us were able to relax and truly have a good time. She talked us through the steps had us participate to our comfort level. Offered to share recipes, and she even knew we were not from the area and traveled to the city for the weekend so she had some to go containers for us to take what we liked for later! Her history in the country and culture provided for a lot of conversation. The dancing was amazing. Even if I was shy we made it through some lessons and I didn’t feel pressured. All in all this was just an amazing experience. I cannot thank her enough!

This was one of the best if not the best cooking class experiences that I have been to. Marceen was not only welcoming and warm but spared no expense in making our experience a memorable one. You could tell that she put care and thought into every detail; From preparing unexpected appetizers to settle our stomachs while we prepped and then cooked our meal for the evening. To making sure she had containers readily available for us to take our leftovers home. We struggled to decide who was taking how much food home because the food was just amazing and neither of us wanted to give any extra away. I don't eat pork and could not deny myself a taste of her bbq ribs. They looked and smelled amazing, the meat was falling right off the bone and the homemade gravy to drizzle on top was good enough to pack and take home as well. She used fresh ingredients, nothing she used came out of a box or a can. Even the beans were soaking prior to our arrival, if you know beans then you know that prepping them requires time and cannot be accomplished in just a few hours. This means that she spent a good portion of her time outside of our booking taking care of this extra detail. If you are looking for an intimate experience for yourself, friends or even a date night, this is one you should invest in. Dancing, singing, and cooking is an experience that touches your soul and one that you will never forget. I look forward to sharing this experience with other friends and might even go back on my own. As a lover of food and someone who enjoys cooking, I have to make sure that I come back to her and see what other cooking tricks and tips she has to offer.
